i was chatting to a town planner today that has just comeback from Dubai. She was there for 2 weeks at seminars, conventions, town planing meetings ect.
She has told me that Dubai is amazing. burj dubai is unreal.
but she also said that the "vibe" around town is that this boom may have already peaked.
she said word is around architects is that dubai WILL run out of money sooner rather then later.
some say 5 years, others 10years and definatley within 20 years.
already some projects are being canned.
this is why many have started with anticiptaion.
I love whats going on atm in Dubai. Its a skyscraper enthusiasts dream!
i wish it will never end. but sadly it will.
but by then The city will be a sight to behold.

Well, raw material costs have doubled in the past year and a half or so which is putting loads of pressure on developers. Every project is delayed, etc. I agree, I think this boom might have peaked or else will peak soon enough.

there just dust storms, i was in kuwait for a while and experienced a few.

They make it umcofortable to be outside, because the dust just whips you in the face, gets in your mouth, gets in your eyes and can sometimes lower visibility down to 15m or less.

You can still breathe the same, they usually dont last longer then 30-60min, and you just make sure you arent out side when they hit, and they will dirty anything you have sitting outside as well.
