Not really while he was there. Always had guards with him. Much of the soldier footage is file footage and not filmed on his trip. He said it was so hard to interview people because all the kids were always intrieged by the camera,.

Won tickets to an advanced screening of 30 days of night, it's pretty shitty vampire movie. It's not scary, it's sorta stupid (the desicions of the characters) and there's no real plot... so many things are silly.

anyway, i went because it was free.

"All my friends are leaving Brisbane" is getting good reviews, it's a very low budget movie, so I hope that doesn't stop it getting a decent release.

Eastern Promises steam bath fight scene reminded me a bit of the naked fight scene in Borat, both involved dodgy Eastern Europeans, but Eastern Promise is a whole lot more violent and doesn't bother with the censoring black bars.

I saw the Jesse James film earlier this week, it's by the Aussie director of Chopper and stars Brad Pitt. I thought the first half was good, but it is way too long, someone needed to edit the film a lot better because obviously the director had no self control. Slow scenes go on and on too much, and too many long "scenery" shots.

Saw "30 Days of Night" yesterday, a vampire/zombie movie set in Alaska. It's stupid, inept goths chasing moronic townspeople. I think they fired any decent writers and spent the budget on fake blood and gore instead.

Saw "All my friends are leaving Brisbane" today, it is excellent, even better than I'd hoped. What a damn shame that a movie this good is given such a small release, it deserves so much more.

Whoever made it must really love Brisbane as well, some excellent camera work showing off all the best bits and views.

The story is funny as well, about young people kinda stressing about all their friends getting married or moving away. Lots of funny lines.
