Why did they make a new line instead of adding one station to the existing line 4? Do the passangers have to transfer?

Not sure what that's all about. Elections in Venezuela are not won by opening new subway stations but by throwing the opposition in prison and blaming everything on gringos.

According to urbanrail facebook account:

Quote:
What was opened in Caracas as Línea 5 on 3 Nov 2015 is actually just an extension of Line 4, which itself is just a branch of line 2 - how confusing is that? I wonder what those planners think? On Twitter (from where the photo below originates) they explain that those trains coming to Zona Rental from Las Adjuntas normally run through to Bello Monte, while those from Zoológico terminate at Zona Rental (see https://twitter.com/metro_caracas)

After many years of construction, at last Line 5 opened for metro operation. Although it is currently only one station opening, but in future, there is an ambitions plan to eastern extension towards Warairarepano. I heard this entire route will be opened in 2017, will it?

Plaza Venezuela and Zona Rental are two very busy stations I think, but they situate very closer. Is there any direct walking subway link, or exit and re-entry is necessary?

For the goverment is much better to say "We made a whole new line" instead of "We opened XX number of stations in the line 4".

Some pictures

And this is a real map of how Caracas Metro should be. No line 4 or 5 (because is the same Line 2). This map includes Line 7 Dark Brown(BusCaracas), Los Teques Metro (Light Blue), Charallave Commuter (Green), Metrocable lines (Grey) and Petare Cabletrain (Brown)

The original project was a line 2 and line 4 for separated, but they join both lines, now the line 5 does not have logic.

is the Caracas Metro affected by the ongoing crisis in the country? civil servants only work 2 days in a week and there are power issues.
