Hi Reece.
I never said anything about every 2 days ...
The last shots I have of the site are from 2 months ago.

Hi Random.
I hope the forum does re-arrange to include a megatall area.
There are two high ranking council members on the forum (that I know of) so it may happen.

I like the acknowledgement of a megatall category by the council. It was due.
They could have went with the line at 500 meters but 600 works too.

Besides the fact that both were designed by the same studio, this arrangement reduces efficiently the structural stress produced by the wind load. By achieving this, the tower will move at most 1 meter from its theoretical vertical axis at the very top.

of course it is related. building high in from of a pyramid makes sense in costs and its structural very save and stuff. the only problem with it is that it has only a third of the usable space than a box of the same dimensions. but for record hunting it is the best solution

Would those mountains between Makkah and Jeddah be accesible for tourists?

Hi everyone

Today in night I visited the project site. Nothing to now, and does not have any equipment in the land of the tower or signs to start working

We must wait until the new year

Thank you for your efforts our friends around the world

Somewhat side note but this is my favorite pic of the Burj Khalifa I took the last time I was in Dubai (I really did take this and it really did look that beautiful...):

Taken with a basic point and shoot 12MP camera that I had just bought at the Dubai Mall a few weeks earlier...
If for some reason the photo is not showing up on here... here is the link:

It seems the KT occupys the same inhabitable floor space as BK, but it is the 1,000+ ft of spire that brings about the worlds tallest building record.

The Architects erring on the side of caution, with regards to highest inhabitable floor.

BTW: The base foundation is like OMG!.

Wise.Given the sand, sand and more sand.

For the CTBUH at least 50% of the height must be habitable so them making a huge spire would not surprise me. As I said before, this building just like Burj Khalifa is meant only for height, nothing else

But I still love it. Even though it's just a Burj Khalifa twin with a taller spire I still love it
