Maybe to all religions but not for all nations. Every time I check I red that its impossible to get tourist visa to Saudi Arabia. But this is interesting topic so if they indeed changed something I would like to see evidence.

It's not soil testing. They are injecting chemicals underground to make the soil stronger to withstand towers load and to make it more stable.

You need to have a work/business visa or be a citizen. Saudi Arabia is not a open tourist country I have a friend who lives and works there

Thing is I read somewhere that tourists are actually allowed to visit Jeddah. And forumer KingdomTower (who I guess is from SA) confirmed it.

Since when was Jeddah a forbidden place?

It's only mecca and I think that was b/c people were trying to take sables of the black stone.

Anyways This is totally off-topic so no more talks about the subject check flights to Jeddah or visit your nearest Saudi embassy for answer.

It's not Jeddah, its the whole Saudi Arabia as a country. They just don't give tourist visas. And it was like that for longer time now. So if now its different that means something has changed just lately, and I would like to read any article that would prove that. It's not completely offtopic though since the case if we will ever have chance to visit the tower depends on that.

HK999 where did you read that?

You don't know if they were tourists.

I guess if nobody can provide a single link that speaks for itself.

They could be either business-mens, employees or Muslims of non Arabic origin. Take your pick. We talk about tourist visas.

I'm with patrykus here. This isn't OT, on the contrary. It's actually very important for all non muslims who plan to see this tower one day, to know if there's a possibility of visiting SA as a tourist.

@patrykus : I can't remember exactly, I just know it was in some newspapers. I'll try do dig it up when there's a chance. Gn8.

Are you from SA? If so, may I ask is this the famous Saudi hospitality? ... go to the nearest embassy... - way to go to treat somebody who's interested to visit SA lol.

Well that went a bit too far so let me end this topic. I went to the main saudi arabia embassy website for the us, thinking it should be most up to date and trustworthy information there and here's all visa types available:

-Business Visit Visa
-Diplomatic And Official Visa
-Employment Visa
-Extension of Exit/Re-Entry Visa
-Family Visit Visa
-Government Visit Visa
-Residence Visa
-Student Visa
-Transit Visa
-Temporary Work visa
-Hajj Visa
-Umrah Visa
-Adding a Newborn to a Saudi Residence Card

link: http://www.saudiembassy.net/services/

So no tourist visa as for now. At least for Americans.

I'm not sure what kind of tourism would you do in Saudi Arabia? Not much TBH although when they had a tousim visa numbers were increasing (info from a quick google search) perhaps when this is complete and few more things they may consider it.

Nope I'm not Saudi and don't currently live in Saudi Arabia, also this has nothing to do with hospitality pretty much this isn't the best or let say the most appropriate place to ask about visa or how to visit Saudi Arabia. Pretty much this thread has been derailed thanks to you. I was only trying to make sure that you are happy by all the answers giving then was stresting that we should get back on topic.

YET you insist on making a big deal out of nothing. You got your answer now can we get back to topic? If you have further questions and you're too lazy to go to the embassy (best place to get info IMHO) I'm sure we have a Saudi forum here, few clicks and asking your question in the "appropriate" place would be much more appreciated.

I hope that doesn't sound too offensive as that wasn't my intention but yea can we get back to topic now please?

Lol so fast to judge, he's actually from Egypt. I've already explained here, at least twice, that tourist visas can, as a matter of fact, be obtained albeit not easily. The only problem is tourist visas aren't issued to individuals, you have to be in a group and obviously not many traveling agencies organize trips in KSA.

Here's the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs site (visa section):

Must be really hard since main us embassy don't even list that option

btw I knew about this group trips thing. But thats not actually what would interest me. You need at least 7 people willing to go, and the trip is strictly planned from point to point, moving by bus. Something what you do in North Korea.
