Great find helghast! I just didn't like the web format so I converted it to pdf if anybody wants to download:

http://www.filedropper.com/rae-21000...amedsheriffpdf

http://www.filedropper.com/microsoft...n11-28-2011tt2

I also reposted two most interesting diagrams from the document. First is detailed 3d structure model. It is very interesting because it shows exactly how the foundation will look like and also shows that this tower as Burj will have steel structure as well - just much smaller. Another diagram shows towers footprint. The rest in much better quality in pdf's.

Hmm, that has the highest floor being 165.

Rather, there's 154 floors, but there's a bunch of double height floors. In addition, we know the skydeck is on floor 157, and there's 8 floors above that, although 2 are double height, so we might be able to get away with calling it 167 floors.

Hi all.

Fricken awesome Helghast !!!

Beyond the 3D render there is a bunch of info on the foundation. I was wondering if there were some barretts involved.

I will be pouring over this info in the next few days.

Thanks for posting Helghast and thanks for converting Pat.

Hi all.

Some foundation observations :
- The raft has very near the same dimensions as the BK raft.
- The vertical elevations used for this project are based on Mean Sea Level instead of a municipal vertical datum.
- The raft will be 5.9 meters thick. The BK is 3.7.
- Concrete for the piles will be 60 MPa - 2400 kg per cubic meter.
- Cathodic protection for all piles and the raft.
- 225 piles in total (main structure only).
- 15 piles 1.5 m. dia. by 65 m. deep.
- 165 piles 1.5 m. dia. by 45 m. deep.
- Round piles 3750 tonne capacity (4132 ton). The BK has 3000 ton capacity piles. This project uses metric tons (1000 kilograms - 2204 lbs) whereas the BK uses tons (2000 lbs).
- 43 barrettes 1.2 by 2.8 m. by 105 m. deep.
- 12 barrettes 1.2 by 2.8 m. by 85 m. deep.
- Barrettes are 7000 tonne capacity (7714 tons).

All this new info and the list of companies involved in the various aspects of this project is encouraging.

Ray.

If I dare to ask: Could you ask your friend how tall this thing will finally be? He may not even know it but it doesn't hurt to ask, right

I'm sure they'll count the taller floors as 2 or 3 floors in some cases though right? I was hoping for a floor count around 180 for this one. But I guess I might be let down :P

Hmm, I thought I counted ~180, though then again I did automatically count the higher floors height-wise appropriately as 2 or 3 floors. If they skip some, then sure, there may only be 160 listed floors or so, but the height you'll be at would be higher.

Thanks for the detailed info!
