So, is it final? 1007 meters? I read that the decision for the height of this building will only be announced one year before it's completed..... Hmmm.

The real height will be announced when the building is almost finished.

I think it will be higher than 1007 Meters

Maybe Dubai will counter this with Vertical City ( over 2400 Meters )

This tower looks even more top narrow than Khalifa, so im expecting a lot of specs with this building to be somewhat underwhelming in comparison to the total height. So that observatory platform is at below 700m . Im guessing a couple of floors above it and then 200-300 meters of nothing... but hey it will still be the tallest!
Id say the highest 100 meters of the spire will be useless. But the rest is wide enough to be inhabitable

at least the next 100-150m above the platform should be wide enough for floors

In CTBUH they say the minimum height is 1.000 m, but the final height can be more than 1.100 m.

Great news! Jeddah is expanding toward the north... Kingdom Tower and the surrounding buildings will be Jeddah's city center decades from now.

I'm almost sure it will be taller than 1007m, but above 1100m is unlikely i think.

only 167 floors... if we go by your estimate that only the top 100 meters will be inhabited, that is an average of 5.4 meters / floor. Or if you put it another way, Khalifa has 160 floors (+ a bunch of mechanical "floors") and its top floor is not even at 600m, so it has a very low average. This building will beat Khalifa by 200m but only 7 floors? If this tower has a usable floor above 800 meters i will be VERY surpriced.

It's great to see WTB thread pinned up again. It really takes me back to 2007.

Great news.

'' Nothing of this size happened in Jeddah for over two decades.''
So that means that last century there were projects this size in Jeddah?

It was explained a couple years ago that in order to build this huge thing in the desert sand they're going to use some kind of liquid to stiffen and reinforce the sand around the piles.

Are there any photos of them beginning this, or at least testing this process?
