Not just 1 building has been canceled after underground work. I can name at least 10 that have been canceled after underground work

Chicago spire was the only project which has been cancelled during real foundation works. Russia Tower and Nakheel Tower were not really U/C.

Nakheel tower had it's foundation partially complete so yeah it was u/c at some point. Russia tower had heavy machinery on site, although all they managed to do was some slurry walls I think. There was also that tower in Korea forget the name now. There is also India tower. There probably isn't 10 600m towers stalled but there isn't much megatalls after all so that's normal.

Nakheel tower had a part of its foundation completed? never heard that, i always thought it was just prep and nothing more.
Pilling didn't start at russia tower, just slurry walls as you said.
Korea? you mean the Incheon Towers? they never broke ground.
and india tower is just on hold at the moment, not cancelled ( i hope it won't in the future )

Yeah nakheel was u/c. Remember reading an article about how many berets and piles were completed before the stop. With incheon they did some test piles. With the russia tower they did only the slurry walls but it was pretty much u/c it probably was foundation contractor who did the slurry walls.

Anyways people have hope for resurrection of all the projects I mentioned but at the moment they are pretty much dead. Still I feel this is not the fate of Kingdom Tower.

Yes, i don't see that coming to KT too.

But it would be fantastic to see Nakheel Tower back U/C in the future!

Yes nakheel tower was just amazing, but I feel like Dubai cancelled it so that they wait on other competitors, then work on an alternative tower like the new revised project of the lagoons, which is now called Dubai Creek Harbour, or DMCC (I hope they make it the world's tallest), or Al Burj. I'm sure only one of them would be built to be a 'world's tallest'.

I was going to say 'not neccessarily' but here on SSC it would be a sacrilege

What's up with the cancellation talk? Just b/c it could be canceled doesn't mean it's not u/c so the thread title is correct unless you have a source that the project is canceled. We can't just talk about speculations as facts.

Some people just can't swallow the fact that yet another record-breaking tower is going on in this region, while their cities/county's towers half or less as tall, were cancelled

I've seen enough here on SSC to know that a desert or a swamp can be a sprawling city 15 years later.

But that does not mean they were never under construction, as that guy was implying for this building. Plus, there are no signs whatsoever of this being cancelled, in fact, it's leaning more towards the idea that it will be fully built as planned.
