The money used in this project should be used to support people in need.
Or maybe even more important: The Climate
The Climate is a topic that is underrated as F*CK.
People have to wake up and start to realise whats going on.
Kingdom tower will be eco friendly.

Exactly!
I was waiting for this reaction.
Now the fight against global warning is being used by companies as advertising.
to sell their products more expensive.
Being an 'Eco Tower' doesn't help the planet.

Are you ******* serious??
This pisses me off!
Its a gigantic problem and we will all see the consequences.
In fact we already see it happen.
Just trying to hide it, or saying its a hoax won't help at all.

You do now you are on a forum where people talk about skyscrapers? It's not like we don't care about the things you care about. but. you are missing the point. This is not a topic to discuss the usefullness or uselessness of skyscrapers. There are topics where you can discuss this but this isn't the right one. To be honest you are acting like a troll.

The answer to your question is simple: I come here because I like skycrappers.
But this one is useless.
Some skycrappers are needed, because there is not enough space to built.
Against this skycrapper, as their is no need for it. (there is enough place anyways)
Well, OK, I see what you mean now

P.S. I do care about you...
P.P.S. it's skyscrapers (1 p )

One tower isn't going to change anything for the climate, and nothing humans do will ever prevent it from changing, as climate change has always had a natural cycle of hot and cold troughout world history. It's like trying to control the natural rise and falls of tides.

This skyscraper is good because it will increase land prices around it. It will put Jeddah further on the map, as the Burj Khalifa did for Dubai. It will be a magnificent work of art for humanity to enjoy. It's being built with private money.

Sure, Jeddah can build two-story office blocks that spread out for miles, but those are completely boring compared to this project.

This is not the correct thread to discuss climate change but 98% of all scientists belive that the current rapid change in climate is man-made and will lead to catastrophical consequences if emissions of carbon dioxide is not curbed within the next two-three decades. This is very much a fact.

Now, building an enormous tower might seem just like another way for super-rich sheiks to spend money but this actually makes sense. Saudi Arabia have realized that their oil is limited and they need to shift their economy. Building attractive cities with landmarks is one such way. Also, as I understand it Jeddah is developing their urban transport (together with a national railway system) and compared to a urban sprawl of "two-story office blocks" it will be more much eco-friendly, altough not as much as is needed.

But then, can a skyscraper really be eco-friendly? Well, take a look at Bahrain World Trade Center that has wind turbines that produces it's own energy!

Not the Kingdom Tower!

You're totally denying facts here. What a load of BS about your conspiracy theory. Global warning is very much happening and is very much posing a enormous threat.
People are allowed to tell their opinions, but what you're saying is just nonsense.

PS sorry for OT, but had to get this off my mind.

Exactly. Africa was the leader in tall buildings before Christ, Europe in the middle ages, America in the 20th century, right now the middle east and China are the leaders, but the 21st century has just begun and I expect many changes in who's the leader in tall building construction to happen in the comming years and decades
