that always depends on the condition of the soil and from the height of the Tower of course.

Actually, WTC really doesn't have any real pilings. The bedrock there is very shallow and they actually excavated straight down to the bedrock for most of the foundations.

If they're hypertalls being built (is that term official or not?) then that means soon we'll need a megatall forum, even though most of the threads will be placed in the proposed megatalls section. I'm surprised all of these amazing megatall projects are being built. Here are a few megatalls:

Shanghai Tower

Pingan International Finance Center

Kingdom Tower

Hypertall, Ultragall, Giatall or whatever. Towers like Kingdom Tower above 1000m should get their own categorie indeed.
But let's wait until it's finished i would say

I think "Kilotall" should be the term used for any buildings 1000 m. and taller.

nonsense, if you take the other borders into count:

>50m = midrise

>100m = highrise

>200m = skyscraper

>300m = supertall

>600m = megatall

the logical next step would be 1000m or 1200m.

But 900m not a special height, but 1000m is.
