Well, they'll have that anyway. It's just that architecturally there isn't anything about it, it's not even simple in a beautiful way. It looks like some random 90s outskirt mall.

Am I the only one who thinks that all those 800+ buildings are completely crazy and stupid? there are a lot of reasons against those giants and not many for them. I like new skyscrapers and I like them high but something like that is just ridiculous!

For people living in the 19th century, anything above 400m sounded completely ridiculous and out of reach. Now we have structures of that height getting up virtually everywhere.

It's just a process of getting used to it. If we really need those, well. We're able to pull them up, we do it.

The mall is neither here nor there. But really, nothing is going to stand out next to the tower. As for the height, if the developer has the money, and the engineers have the know-how, who's to say it's too high. If they can fill it with tenants it wasn't too high.

It happens every now and then.. someone comes into this thread blabbering about how this tower is too high (see above), is an oil tower, is being built in the middle of a desert, etc., as if they're being original or something. I just ignore them, even add them to the block list if they're exceptionally irritating.

I agree with you, hopefully it will get redesigned between now and the time construction starts.

I agree! For something as iconic as the Kingdom Tower, that supporting mall design is a shocker. Apart from the blingy gold curved roof (which I dont actually mind) the rest is very dull...

It seems it's an unwritten rule that malls have to be glitzy and tacky.

I think the mall looks decent. It's not astounding or ground-breaking. But as others said, sometimes we're "spoiled" by so many exceptional designs that normal designs appear boring. The mall's there just to be a retail focus and is probably designed to be more subtle because it'd steal visual thunder from the tower itself (if that were possible), but that could be the only take for it's more basic design, IMO.

It looks good enough to well, be a mall. But true, usually we're akin to seeing these ultra-lative projects receive visually stunning companion structures and here it is a bit more subdued. Like others said, I think it'll turn out better in reality than the renders but time will tell.

I think this is on topic:
my 1:100 scale model of the Kingdom Tower built with LEGO Technic!
The hall was not quite tall enough, so I had to leave off the top 1m or so.
The second photo shows the top 4m including the full spire.
