A snippet on this tower featured in a tv program on business aired in Australia last night.

The topic being discussed was how insurers are struggling with the concept of insuring buildings approaching 1000 metres high. Apparently the KT will be insured by a consortium of underwriters for $1.4 billion U.S with particular separate policies covering earthquake and lift issues which the insurers have identified as being the most likley causes of claims.

Some nice renders of the tower too.

Is a building this tall even practical? I mean it's pretty, but it seems like a fantastic waste of money.

The last thing Saudi Arabia think about this construction, is the "waste" of money...

They just wanna be "The Number One".

Furthermore, there is a huge empty space in the last floors of this tower, just to be the tallest.
