Not sure what will be used here but the Doka climbing form used on the BK was capable of jumping 4.00 meters. Although most of the pouring steps were 3.20, 3.50, and 3.70 - there were some at 2.00, 3.60, and 4.00.

The only taller pour was 5.25 and that was the initial forms, not the climbing ones.

Ray.

Thanks for your reply.

I've read that they have kept all jumps to 4.00m to reduce cost. If they do that can any current Doka system be able to handle 100+ jumps without significant wear & tear or are they implementing a new type of system to cater for KT? It will be a record for the most continuous use of a single system!

Just saw on an old Burj Khalifa construction pic from May 2005 that they started to install the climbing formwork already at the 2nd floor. If we'll see the same method here this will shoot up very soon

The last stage of concrete pouring for the foundation of the Kingdom Tower (1082 meters) was completed two days ago.
In the next few days, construction will start and it will 'flyyyyyyy'. Exclusive photos, #Jeddah

arabic is written from right to left, but why is the number 1082 written from left to right? is the person who posted that related to the project or is it just a wild guess with that number, seems random to get that from a twitter and not an official statement

It'll be above 1000m, that's the only thing which counts for me . If it's 1007m, 1050m, 1087m or 1100m doesn't really matter.

Where's 1,082 Meters coming from? Is it a reliable source?

The BK had 168 pours / jumps. I don't know if the system was wore out after that but I would think the same system could work for the KT. Are we even sure Doka is to be involved with this project ?

Yes, it has been announced some months ago that DOKA will do the complete formwork logistics for Kingdom Tower

Here's the article on their website (German): http://www.doka.com/web/newsroom/pre...m_Tower.de.php
