Very high formwork, multiple levels. Are they going to pour concrete in different floors at the same "jump" of it?

Where does Jeddah get its water from? Desalination? I'm always perplexed and somewhat disturbed by these gardens in the desert.

Yes, Saudi has some of the biggest desalination plants in the world, like Ras alKhair plant.

I don't know about Jeddah, but in Dubai they transport the sewage with trucks to the coast a bit a way from the city and dump it all in the sea. Maybe its similar?

In Jeddah, it goes to two treatment stations where third of that treated water is used to water parks and road trees in the city. They are building now the infrastructure to use the other two thirds to be used in agriculture and some industry. But right now the other two thirds go to the sea via pipes.
Now lets focus on the supertall and stop mentioning sewage

Well, the project is neither in a small city nor in a small country

Exactly! So why would they take the easiest route possible by pumping their shit into the ocean? There is a gazillion miles of un-useable desert close by so why not make some giant septic tanks and pump it into the sandy desert where nobody will ever inhabit. Just kind of disappointed to hear they do this. Nothing like enjoying a nice day of fishing out in the ocean, only to see turds floating by

did you really think that they dump the sewage straight to the sea ??!!

of course not, they make a small and almost closed area in the sea and use it for the sewage. A lot of countries are doing the same .. I saw the same in Kuwait and Bahrain but, don't wory it won't affect the pureness of the whole red sea !! and for your information the red sea is one of the clearest in the world

source : http://greatstuff.hubpages.com/hub/S...Red-Sea-Jeddah

BTW, the thread is about something entirely different
