Isn't that strange, I just realized that the current worlds tallest and the next worlds tallest (if a kilo tall isn't built this decade) are designed by the same person

well it's not in stone yet. but I'm sure Smith will win the competition. BTW we should be hearing something Very soon. within the next 6 day's!

no, that wasn't Smith's. that was just SOM's design.

I didn't mind SOM's design at all - but I'm pullin' for Smith.

I hope we will be getting a shitload of pics and info once this project moves from paper to physical phases.

from what i read. the reports said by the end of the month, the winner of the competition scheme will be announced. which the only two firms that are in the competition are: SOM & AS+GG

الوليد بن طلال يؤكد عزمه بناء برج أعلي من "برج خليفة"

الرياض (صدى):

بعد أيام من افتتاح دبي "برج خليفة" الأعلى في العالم والذي يصل ارتفاعه إلى 828 مترا، أكد الملياردير السعودي الأمير الوليد بن طلال عزمه المضي قدما في مشروعه لبناء برج يتجاوز ارتفاعه ألف متر في جدة غرب السعودية.

وأكد الأمير الوليد عزم مجموعته "المملكة القابضة" القيام باستثمارات جديدة في الفنادق بمنطقة الخليج.
وذكر الوليد انه حول ملكية 180 مليون سهم يملكها في مجموعة سيتي غروب المصرفية الاميركية بقيمة 597 مليون دولار الى مجموعة المملكة القابضة من دون كلفة، ما سيتيح للمجموعة جمع اموال لاستثمارات في المستقبل.

وقال في مؤتمر صحافي عقده في برج المملكة في الرياض "انا متفائل بالنسبة للمستقبل ، نتطلع دائما الى استثمارات جديدة". والبرج الذي ينوي الامير الوليد بناءه في جدة هو الجزء الرئيسي من مشروع "مدينة المملكة في جدة" او "جدة كينغدوم سيتي".
وكانت مجموعة المملكة القابضة اعلنت منتصف العام الماضي انها اختارت مجموعة اعمار العقارية العملاقة في دبي، وهي مطورة "برج خليفة"، لتطوير مشروع جدة كينغدوم سيتي وضمنه البرج والاشراف عليه.

ويفترض ان يبنى المشروع على قطعة ارض قريبة من مطار جدة الدولي ويتضمنان معا 23 مليون متر مربع من الفضاء التجاري والسكني والمكاتب. وتبلغ كلفة المشروع 6،26 مليار دولار.

عن عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه، في قصة سؤال جبريل عليه السلام عن الإيمان والإسلام والإحسان، وفي آخره قول جبريل عليه السلام: فأخبرني عن الساعة؟ قال صلى الله عليه وسلم : " ما المسؤولُ عنها بأعلمَ من السائل " قال: فأخبرني عن أمارتها ؟ قال: " أن تلد الأمةُ ربَّتها، وأن ترى الحُفاة العُراةَ، العالةَ رِعاء الشاء، يتطاولون في البنيان" الحديث بطوله رواه مسلم (3).

5th pic is the 2400m Dubai City Tower. NVM about that now, it's only visioned and it will stay like that, preferably.

this tower is really going to be build?because is way to high...I think the workrs will not be abble to breath when they reach almost 1 mile high....and could be very dangerous...but if they put this up..will be the last...and is very beautiful...Burj khalifa cost something like almost 20 billions and picture this?maybe 50 or 70 billions..but this is saudi arabia...money is like rain...make it rain...LOL

true story if saudi arabia want they could pass dubai just like that...but Dubai is Dubai and I love dubai(remember the times )...I think this tower will be the last super super tall ever to be built,nobody will beat that 'till they come with new technologies...how much will cost???but that tower is BUT IS SO BIG that give me dizziness...

The town I grew up in Montana is a mile high and no one has a problem breathing. There are also cities with a much higher elevation. Breathing only becomes a problem when you're at altitudes that are much higher such as major mountain peaks like Everest. You wouldn't even notice a thinner atmosphere until about 10,000 ft or so. I've been that high and did feel a little dizzy.

Hey Nashville Tennessee right??young bucks's place, I guess you know who is...wow ok than...but could be dangerous because that middle east area is very windy and with alot of sand....I don't know if climate changing has changing that aerea...but I wanna see this baby gain shape
