If this picture is true then it means that there is some floorspace between the cladding and the core even at the outer flat edges of all three wings.

I imagine that this skyscraper is worked on 24 hours a day considering how fast it is being built

can anyone tell me if there are 3 by 8 hour shifts or 2 by 12 hour shifts for the workers or what hours per day are workers on the site

Well with Dubai it was oil money that allowed for such construction... not attracting office work/business. This all came after the oil money.

I wasn't whatsoever! It's awesome.

I'm just stating that Dubai's office space didn't come because of a demand of business coming into the City. It was more the other way round.

Wrong. Dubai has been a trading hub since the late 19th century. The discovery of oil only helped the Government to promote that business more and make the city a hub for the entire region.

I still think Dubai is seen as a sand castle in most of the rest of the world. And although it has some of the most liberal laws in arabia, certain aspects is still holding a huge base of tourists on arms lenght. After all, the degree of liberal rights corresponds to a city's success to a very high degree in the long term.

It stills attracts more visitors than the majority of the "liberal" cities out there, so that a"argument" is a 'sand castle' in itself.

Ofcourse it does... but I'm talking potential here... and economically it is a sand castle as far as most people see it. Abu Dhabi's oil will only last that long. The airline business is just there because of subsidies, so the only thing that is left is tourism. Which in turn is reliant on liberal laws going forward. Or people will just go there once to see the stuff. Which is modern recordbreaking stuff that can be beaten.

That may be so in the "Western World".
The Arabian World has many traditions that are worth to be kept.
In many cases, "our" modern tourism does not match with such traditions.

Should we thus abondon the traditions in favour of tourism? I don't think so.

It would make perfect sense that there are floor space at the edges, the edges have the best views naturally.
What a waste of view space that would be, in the tallest building in the world, if it's not so...

Is it really so, that we don't have any guaranteed/ official information about this essential matter ? It baffles me...

Are there not any floor plans or such ?

Edit... Now that I Googled page 522 I am even more baffled...

These days the oil-rich Gulf is synonymous with building big, especially in the real estate department. Skyscrapers, airlines and malls are just a few examples.

Now, the race is heating up to develop an international financial center—something the Middle East needs, according to Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) CEO Jeffrey Singer.

Earlier this week, the Global Financial Centres Index revealed four Gulf cities in the top 35 globally. On the list were Qatar, Dubai, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, ranking 26th, 29th, 31st and 32nd, respectively.

The base with wave symetry looks very futuristic and better than Burj Khalifa

It becomes more and more strange.
There are pics showing no floor space at the edge of the wings and others with it.
All pics are official.
I'm extremely excited of the moment this becomes clear finally.
