Can I just ask something... what's the point in building the tallest building in the world in the middle of nowhere? It's not like there isn't room to go flat. If this was built in somewhere like New York it'd make more sense

It should look just like the area around Burj Khalifa after it was finished. BTW look at what Dubai looked like in 1976 .

The first part of your question has been answered before, this is a constantly developing area BUT I do agree with the second part where you said if it was built in New York then it would make more sense. I feel as though they'd benefit more from a high-rise

Actually I can definitely see the trend continuing that the tallest buildings in the world will be built in custom built super developments and not in cities. I don't think we will see the tallest building in the world built in a city center again.

I agree with this. Hard to imagine a 1000m+ in a city like New York, Chicago or London.
