As tedious as this sounds, but shouldn't the title of this thread be changed so that it again does not imply that the final height is set to be 1007 metres!

JEDDAH | Kingdom Tower | 1000m+ | 3280ft+ | 170 fl | U/C

The same question was asked in the "Mecca Minaretes" thread. I have researched but could'nt find a picture or something else about this human "problem". But for sure he (or perhaps it's a her) must have a sort of toilett to reach fast. I won't imagine when he or her had suddenly "preasure" and must go down 1000m before...

Brief structure progress summary:

-Level 10 has emerged out of the central core jump-form = Level 12 of the central core has been cast; rebar preparation for Level 13.

-Level 3 has emerged out of the core wing jump-forms on all 3 wings = Level 5 of the core wings have been cast; rebar preparation for casting the Level 6 core wings.

Many thanks for the update alsaif2012!

I'm sure he realizes that. He would have to back up about a half mile or better, to fit it in one frame, from top to bottom

Honestly, I have to disagree. After all, if it wasn't for him(alsaif2012), we probably wouldn't have the great photo updates we get on a pretty regular basis. For all I care, he can Photoshop a Camel into the diagrams, and I wouldn't care, just as long as he continues with his great picture updates. Cut him some slack, just saying

I think that on some towers, they lift up portable bathrooms up via crane. But if any workers are really far from one, then I am pretty sure that they have a port a potty, similar to what small pop-up campers have.

I'm pretty sure I quoted, and was pretty clear, with what I disagreed with. I could also say I appreciate his work, BUT..... The but or Btw sorta means she's not 100% appreciative. Who cares if he puts an out of scale/false diagram on one of HIS photo's. I'm not sure what you don't understand

What really does surprise me is the human ambition! I mean this one is a great milestone in breaking the 1Km threshold but the real importance of such a tower is not where it is being built or who's building it but what building such a humongous structure will teach us and all the knowledge architects will acquire by having a real life model getting built in front of them.

This might be for some only a race for tallest but the real benefit of such a project will come after this one. I mean this will give us enough info to go even taller and taller in upcoming years.

Maybe Dubai Vertical City won't be only a vision after all

I would appreciate this gigantic and breathtaking tower would be build. But i don't think we would see it in the next 10 or 15 years beginning to rise. I'm not an architect or engineer but i think the most technical problems for building such a structure needed a few years to be solved. No crane, no concrete pump, no formwork and even no materials are available today that are neccesary for a 2400m tower. All this parts would only be developed for this unique structure, and that would be very very expansive.
It's not like building the KT and add a few meters or build it twice time high.

I tried to estimate more accuratly how the final tower should look like but once again (because we had this discussion already) the distance is a major factor here. You cannot calculate the final height by stacking 50m lines on top of each other.

Here what i did, i took the floor diagram and put it on top of alsaif picture. I used the top of the core (floor 12) and the top of the wings (floor 6) as a reference. Here is the result:

hpics.li/5f31f6f (copy link in your browser as i don't have enough post count yet -.- )

Then i took the same picture and put it next top alsaif diagram. Once again i used the top of the core and the top of the wings as a reference.

hpics.li/4c93fd7 (copy link in your browser as i don't have enough post count yet -.- )

Still, i am pretty sure i am wrong :p

(please don't post ultra strech picture again)

50m will look smaller in a 5% rate compared to a 1000m when we go far of the structure. So her post is accurate and please don't make new scientific laws here!

Soory, but she is the right one no matter you accept it or not

You might be forgetting some of the most basic laws of geometry and physics, think of your vision as the hypotenuse of a triangle.

And considering how far away you'll have to stand to get the whole tower in the frame you might as well consider the curve of the earth as adding to this effect
