I really like the BSB render. It looks like something out of Pokemon might look if it were realistic. Simple, green, yet futuristic. The glass is unrealistically uniform and reflective, however.

I would never go anywhere besides the UAE, in Saudi Arabia. Then the 2nd part of #1 has nothing to do with tourism. Outside of the UAE, tourism visa's currently are NOT ACCEPTED for non-Muslim people, under normal circumstances. Hopefully that will change in the future, but still, there are a lot of poor radical Muslims that would love to kidnap a white american person and demand ransom.

And to answer #2, go look at the Burj Khalifa thread during the very early stages of pilings and ground work. There wasn't a whole lot going on around it then, and what was already there, was just constructed in the few years before that. Find a picture of Dubai in the late 80's to mid 90's. It also looked like a ghost town. In 10 years, Jeddah will look like a whole different place, trust me.
You are absolutely correct on this.. I hope through time that things will change but at this rate its not likely. US govt, and Saudi Arabian govt are friends, but the viewpoint towards most westerners is not very good. I know a couple people who work over there (work visa I guess) and they said its very clean and modern in these spiffy new areas, but they overall were not "received" too well by the local population, and that is putting it nicely based on how things were described to me. I am not particularly fond of countries that do not like westerners, but have no issues being "buddies" with the govt of the west. Maybe one day things will change, and if they do I would love to visit and check this out!

The other supertall that is supposed to be near KT wont be the last of them. There will probably be a 2-3 in the 300m range. This monster will probably have its own little cluster going, and then normal towers around that.

It seems similar to the BK, with the fountain and the base shaped the same.

How big are the wings on KT? The foundation looks about the same size as BK, but I was surprised to see it tapering already. I was expecting it to be more gradual.

The outside wall on the wings, is where the wings end. On the BK, there was an additional "Onion-shaped" extension of the floor plate, so its kind of hard to say, but the wings on the lower portion of the BK actually seems a little longer than the KT wings so far. Maybe its just my eyes fooling me. The central part of the core looks very close in size.

Does anyone have those specs handy by any chance? I was wondering how this compares to the BK specs. There is no doubt, they are building on learned experience from watching BK rise, and it completely makes sense.

The core of BK is roughly the same size as KT's core on the picture you used, so i guess the distance was smililar on both pictures.

When you think about it .. the structure is almost at 50m high now and 50m is less than 5% of 1000m+ .. no way this imagined structure is more than 20 times higher than the constructed one. It seems like 500m high:
