Well, if they are red or yellow is not so relevant.

So far, I could not see much logic in the change of the cranes in the past period.
IMO they could all have been installed in the right place from the beginning of construction...

They have already built the platforms for the 2 of the jumping cranes at level 7, I guess then that we will soon see two new red cranes being erected onto these platforms and then subsequently the existing red tower crane (TC2), will be removed and will be replaced (or raised onto a platform) by a new red jumping crane, because the current one is mounted onto the ground.

That's what all the scaffolding is for, the installation of the first jumping crane platforms) as you can see one of the platforms here just above the scaffold structure:

I believe this will be done quite soon because the central core jump-form rig is almost level with the bottom of the red tower crane.

Yay! 1500th post!

Wow, that is really thin. I would have expected this building to have a bit more bulk. I wonder how many floors will be built before we see the cladding.

Out of interest. How much power would this thing need? And how does rush hour or evacuations work?

Something I've generally wondered about skyscraper offices but never bothered to ask.

Yes, they are, the first mechanical levels are at level 15,16 and level 17; level 16 is being cast right now.
The mechanical levels are slightly taller than typical floors on the tower, this is why there will be additional strips above the cladding panels for the mechanical levels. This is also not only to compensate for the extra floor height (different exterior cladding configuration), but to supply air vents and grills for the ventilation of the tower from these floors.

Level 15 and level 16* and level 17 are mechanical floors.

...not 13 and 14, sorry everybody.

*Level 16 may be a mezzanine floor on floor 15.

Wow. 1000 metres is tall. Too bad it's in the middle of a desert, only there for the oil.

Spires don't count as height - they just look stupid, like the Freedom Tower in New York. All mouth and no trousers.

When the oil dries up, these cities will become slums. What do you do there, apart from look at the trash they are building. Perhaps look at the desert? Or maybe the heritage buildings they are ripping down in place of this rubbish.

If you think that it is a piece of rubbish then you just don't deserve to be here. Another ignorant comment from a person who ain't know nothing about this tower or the Kingdom City project.
