Hey Fury, if it's at 122m, then it passes the 4th to earn the name: "World's Tallest Building" (1899 Park Row at 119m) ?

Amazing as this tower will be, I'm also waiting for the day someone buildings a 1000m tower that isn't just a giant spike that gets 1/3 of it's height from an unusable spire..

For me the Singer Building is the first "World's Tallest Building". I can understand not counting towers, but churches should count in my opinion and the Singer Building was the first building to actually be taller than all the churches and ending their era

It will be really cool to see Mecca Clock tower from KT, as the tip of those building lies at 1000m / 900m above sea level respectively, which means spot the spires / tips from either side.

It's not like they just plonked a spire on for height. The shape is tapered to deal with winds more effectively, but that means the top floors will be too small to use.

So you'd have to have a really thick tower to get floors past 1000 meters, and I don't know if that's structurally feasible yet.

Actually was Philadelphia City Hall that took the record from Ulm Minster and ending their era

Was the first secular habitable building to have this record: all previous world's tallest buildings were religious structures, including European cathedrals and, for the previous 3,800 years, the Great Pyramid of Giza.

From the look of Those Floor Form works, It looks like Pouring a floor is harder than pouring a Piece of the core. Its been a Super long time and these form works are still there.

Probably because a floor is pretty slim compared to the massive walls of the core.

Many times, when a building height record is set (or short before or after), a big crisis takes place (and i think it is not by accident, a thing like a world record building can be preceded by overconfidence and overspending)

Chrysler/Empire State -> 1929, Great Depression

Sears tower + Twin Towers -> 1973, petrol crisis

Petronas towers -> 1996, Asian tigers crisis

Dubai Tower -> 2008, Housing/subprime bubble crisis

This tower could bring a new level in crisis. By end of this year, Saudi Arabia anounced a recor deficit of $98 billion.
