Naturally so! It served well only for the selling of that design. Later on, they had no choice other than explaining the client it is unfeasible, and practically impossible to implement at such scale for such a questionable purpose. After all, such towers - they are not designed by architects (except a few), they are usually designed by engineers. Even Petronas Towers, and Taipei 101, let alone BK - were designed by engineers, no matter what the "architects" of them would claim.

Hmm, according to the simulation-videos, the Sky Terrace was also needed to put a crane on top of it while building the upper parts of the tower.

A crane? Really? Why not to put also a 25x15x1.6m Swimming Pool there?.. The water weight of such a swimming area will not exceed 600 tonnes. It's a bit less than 400 Executive-Class sedans

If you look at the picture of the finished project, you will see that a large canopy comes up to cover the first few floors. These floors will then be inside that area, and up against who knows what, it may elevators in the canopy.
