Why you call other cities "alien"? You as a moder should be equitable, but when you say this, guys from "alien" cities (like me) can accept it as something disrespectfull

Hopefully the pace of construction picks up so we can start talking about the building again.

In the past, 1007 m was mentioned as final height for KT.
With BD, this was 818 m, but finally it became 828 m.

For KT, I expect it will be possible to build it higher than 1007 m, so something might be added to that value.
But the total design and shape of the tower are for 1007 m.
By making it much higher (like 1200 m), the architectural shape might be ruined.

So: my estimate is that the final height of KT will be (close to) 1007 m.

It's very unlikely that it'll be even over 1100m tall.

I didn't mean this in a negative way ... I just meant it distance wise without no hate or racism intended ... Jeddah and Dubai are close by and I like tallest towers to stay in my proximity Don't overthink it

just to clear things up:
this tower is consisted of several elements, connected as a chain, and it has to start in a series, with a specific "buffer" space between each element.
the major elements are: (in a specific order):
1-the Core.
2-the wings.
3-floor slabs plates.
4-the canopies.

so basically, the construction started with the core, the speed went down when they started with the wings.
then the speed went up again when the buffer space went up to 10 floors between the core and the wings.
after that, they started with floor slabs, which caused the speed to go down again.
the speed will not be consistent until all elements are progressing with the planned buffer space between them, and for the mean time that going to be achieved (partly) when reaching floor 40 (for the core).
most likely by the end of this year you gonna see consistent progress (when reaching floor 90-95), and works on other components of phase one is going to be massive and observed.

I am going to use this post by me from few days ago:

on the other hand, the real deal lies here, the non-oil governmental income has grown 29% in 2015, expecting to grow 35% in 2016 (the plan is to make the non-oil income to represent 40 - 45% of total income by 2020 with the current oil prices.
Basically I would rather to see this as the golden chance to go ahead with the economical reforms were established in 2011 on a faster bases.
So, I would call it ( Economical Reforms)

Back on topic, this tower is a 100% private sector project, the government has nothing to with it ( except for giving permissions and licenses) and the funds were completely secured.

the owners of this project (Kingdom Tower and City) are 4 of the richest businessmen in the ME:
1- AL-Waleed Bin Talal (33 %) [ General investor worth around $ 30 Billion]
2- Abdul Rahman Shurbatly ( 33%) [ General investor, retailing, food industry, Cars (exclusive distributor for Audi, Porsche, VW, Ferrari, Maserati. worth around $ 7 Billion]
3- Samaual Bakhsh (16.5 %) [ owner of Traco Company- Real states business. worth around $ 2.75 Billion]
4- Bakr Bin Laden (16.5 %) [ G.M of the Bin Laden Group SBG -Contracting and General investor. worth around $ 7 Billion]

I wish this was helpful
I dont know if you noticed that the non-oil related revenues has grown by 29% in 2015, 22% in 2014 and 20% in 2013, so basically the non-oil revenues went up by more than 50% in the past 3 years.
for us "Saudis" we see this oil prices drop as an opportunity not as something bad.
