It's a pity to see this chaos of all those random shapes of the surrounding buildings, while the architects still have all the possibilities to make the architecture of this area meaningful, to fill it with good, valid ideas...

According to my calculations (off topic) this tower rises at an angle of 87.5 degrees. "

Thats show how tall this building really is, the fact that the building is almost a triangle with a degree of 87.5 is amazing.

It would be very cool, it would be very architectural - to make it SHAPED (like Ryugyong Hotel - a building designed by an architect). Unfortunately, it is shapeless (to resemble a sprout). This way, the "architect" tried to make it look more "organic". AAMOF, this is not architectural design, it is more of an engineer's design.

Go look at the new Hudson West or Hudson Yards what ever they are called, or the new WTC, these building are built to hold a title.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing.
When I was doing calculations for my LEGO model of this tower, it was fascinating learning about the relatively simple geometrical construction of the tower.

Each of the three wings taper at a slightly different angle.
The three wings have the same shape as seen from above, specifically, an isosceles trapezoid, with an equilateral triangle in the middle.
The two shorter wings taper up to the inside edge of the trapezoid, creating the illusion that it is tapering outwards, even though the side walls are vertical.
The taller wing is similar up to about 600m or so, where it starts tapering inwards to a point at the top without the exterior taper changing.
At the same height, the interior triangular prism turns into a triangular pyramid, leaving the two shorter wings extending upwards.
Above this transition point, the triangular pyramid and the tallest wing taper up consistently as a slightly irregular pentagon to the tip, which is at the centre of the tower.

This is the basic shape of the tower. Quite clever IMO.

The Sydney Opera House is another example of an engineering design like this. All the shells are sections of a sphere.

That's the point of an engineering design: you don't have a choice, you can only admire (if any) some geometrical solutions, rather than a good and valid concept.
While the main architectural idea (the "simple" one, as you have very well stated) of this tower is nearly 4600 years old, and is the very basic and the most primitive invention of the Antiquity ages.
And it's not quite a bad thing (I didn't say that): at least they saved money on the architects' work.

I don't really think they saved money by hiring Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill architects.

Same goes for places in the US west, Scottsdale, been there for ever, but 99% of what you see was built in the 40 years, that makes it new.

Are you really going to double down on that dumb comment?

Jeddah's population in 1960 was 140 thousand (by 1970 it hit 350 thousand).

BK's design is quite architectural, but that was SOM's project. Once separated, they have not created something comparable.
