Go back to those great up close pictures that were just posted. Now look at the ones where you see a person in between the walls, to just large each of those floor spaces is. Now count how many there are on a side, multiply by 3 and then the number of floors. There is a lot of floor space to be had.

As of now 200 m high is for sure to be possible in 2016

But 2017 will for sure be much more interesting year regarding this project, I hope it will be higher than 500 m by end of 2017

Of course in 2018, we can expect much more construction speed. I just can't wait to see it at that time

The interior styling is very disappointing... I'd expect this for buildings closer to the cheapest mid-range segment.

The interior renders look quickly thrown together for a presentation, the actual design will likely be better.

I was quite surprised at the two shots of the area around the elevators - presumably on upper floors. It looks very claustrophobic, especially the shot with the darker brown wall colors.

Yes of course it will be faster now because Bin Laden paid the pending salaries from September

(I'm not sure if any would remember but, I said this many times a month ago) it's all over the news

it really is not that big of GFA; if you look at the other 3 winged megatalls you'll see: they all loose the cutout area between the wings, the many walls take space, the sometimes constant or periodically tapering limits aswell, the core takes away a big potential floorspace, the wing sections are not very wide compared to many rectangular, wide towers e.g. old 1&2 WTC with 63+m throughout to the roof or Willis Tower with even more at the lower section... this is why Jeddah Tower has the comparably tiny 243,866mē GFA until its 637.5m highest occupied floor, while 1 WTC had 400.000+ mē GFA until about 413m of its 417m roof and Willis tower, which tapers many times, has even 418.000mē GFA until its 412.7 m highest occupied floor of 442m to its rooftop on its smaller technical extension.

The other 3 Wing Megatalls are similar in GFA loss, while Burj Khalifa has 309,473mē GFA until its 584.5m because it has not constantly tapering but cutoff sections and a bit more spacious floors, compared to Jeddah Tower using its Walls as columns - Wuhan Greenland Center with 303,275mē GFA until its highest occcupied floor at 575m suffers from the same situation, though it saves space by using the megacolumns, the core is still very thick and the wing sections extend not that wide from the core - that would not be a problem if they were mostly advertised/designed for residential use as big appartments for less people are the primary intent there, as far as i know those megatalls are all mixed-use design; but isn't a big part of WGC for office space? i guess they don't need more than they designed

funnily, Shanghai Tower loosing huge potential space by the rounded tapering body and by the double walled design and big core still has 420.000mē GFA until its 561m high occupied floor, because of its wide base and still relatively wide floors to the top and effective disposition of rooms i guess

ST and the to the middle tapering China Zun Tower with 437.000mē GFA until its 515m high occupied floor really are the near future most spacious of the supertall and megatall single towers (excluding the complex forms like Abraj Al Bait with a total of 1.500.000mē combined GFA while the wide Makkah Royal Clock Tower has only 310,638 mē GFA until 494.4m, loosing potential GFA by the huge clocks technical space and the not as deep dimension as its front)

The 530m tall Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre tapers at its last 100+m of its 494.5m to highest occupied floor and still has 398,000 mē GFA, which is astounding, comparing its thinner body and less efficient space design compared to the old 1&2 WTC - Ping An IFC should be near that number while it has its highest occupied floor at 561.7m, because its loosing space at the cutout corners and top tapering combined with the big core and doesn't have too wide sides...

There still seems to be a mistery for me though: SWFC tapers already from below 150m to its ~440m rooftop at the hole loosing all the space up and by the splitting megacolumns below, only adding the observation deck floors at 474m and still exceeding the GFA of the almost not tapering ICC Hongkong;
GFA of SWFC is 381,600 mē; ICC has 274,064 mē of GFA until its 468.8m , still exceeding Jeddah Towers GFA to 637.5m though...

my thoughts:
ICC has a 10 story high atrium lobby, loosing space, while in SWFC the GFA of the podium was added; ICC has a wider core; can it have a higher average roof height at the sections with its highest floorspace if it has more floors??? - it looses a bit spoace at the corners aswell, but i guess much more through mechanical floors and other tech rooms... how do CTBUH count the space? did they cut the hotel floorspace?!

i'd be glad if someone could clear that mistery!
