Elevators have changed big time in recent years, they no longer need huge spools of heavy cable, and mechanical rooms. Using multiple lobbies and express elevators, you could scale a building in pretty short order. That same method could be used to eliminate the need to go to ground in an emergency, and as far view, that would depend what is outside to look at. Some cities are great to look at when flying in, so the view from say 1000 meters would be similar.

Well not really, at the base it will have that huge surround, that is several stories, and contains shops and offices. Once it starts to grow from there up, then what you see is what you get.

Did I say something quite different? I totally agree that it's absolutely possible. I am saying that it's impractical to use any type of spaces above 550m (means both commercial and residential, obviously except some special usage areas). I know about UltraRope, but it comes with a price.

Anyway, I will be extremely thankful if you know some examples which are offering commercial or residential spaces significantly higher than Shanghai tower's top floor at 587m (a few meters higher than BK's top floor).

The skyline of Jeddah Tower looks much better than BK's

I just hope someone is keeping a time lapse of this area. If governed right, this area could develop as fast as Beijing, Taipei or Dubai did, if not faster and more wonderful!

You gotta be kidding? Right? One has a large dense skyline and developed area, the latter has a barren desert with no towers in immediate area.

So, Jeddah Tower is going to be alone in the desert?

Sorry but, writing this after all what's said on this thread is actually kind of foolish

I'm not the foolish one here, where are the other towers? Where is the infrastructure? Nothing started except the JT. There are not even actual other proposals in the area other then the rendering, its 30 years behind Dubai

Jeddah Tower is still far from completion. It's still 4 years behind. If it is finished and nothing is around then come and talk. It is much bigger than all the other buildings in the areas of the planned kingdom city. Don't be this much in a hurry

How many meters is it at this point, looks like about 120 or so if I had to guess.
