I talked to my Saudi friend last week he said they still got no approval form gov to build anything around it at all. I believe this is why it is so slow (apart from the financial reason), they don't want it to finish without having anything around it, so they are waiting for approval ... Let's hope its given to them sooner rather than later and the economy starts to heal as well.
If keep on this slowly progress without fix curtain, the sandstorm will damage concrete..........

I just want to see this one go up fast again and I am more excited to see the whole district under construction as well. I'm sure there is nothing to worry about concrete-wise, no doubt there is engineers making sure the structure isn't getting damaged by the environment.

actually sa we can see on the diagram they do notebookov go to the same spot at the top. I think IT is intentinal and the height can be increased.

I haven't followed this one in every detail so my question is: why is it so slow???
Of course it's a huge amount of concrete but if i get it right it rose about ONE FLOOR PER MONTH !?!?!
With this speed we could wait till 2030 before it will be complete

The entire world economy is like that now. This tower is just an indicator. You can ask me in private msg. for the reasons. Gabriel900 will not allow me to say the words starting with 'R' and 'P' on public (because they do something terrible, starting with 'W', although Gabe calls it "politics" and hates such talks).

Thank you It is not personal but any subject outside construction of this tower belongs elsewhere .. forum rules

This nicely shows that the surroundings really arent ´the middle of nowhere´ anymore

Yeah even if the tower itself is slow, there's a lot of base infrastructure we simply couldn't see going on until that aerial photo. Not saying that one floor a month is exactly the expected speed, but so much more has to go on than just going vertical.

It would be good to see some cladding. To see what it will look like.

The idea of this building already being 720 feet tall is absurd, the scale of this tower is unprecedented.

Again, we see a smattering of workers and the cranes completely idle. I wonder if the pics were taken today - Friday? The date is a mistake - Feb. 26th?
