I saw on one forum the like feature is only temporarily gone, due to vBulletin being updated (the operating software of this website). They will try to fix the issue as soon as possible. Also, great to see the building rising again!

What makes me think is the height of the spire alone, if it were on the ground, is taller than 95% of the buildings. Just by itself. I didn't look but is 336m taller than the empire state building without its spire?
Crazy.

The Empire State Building's main part is 320 meters to the 86 floor observation deck. Its mast containing an additional 16 floors brings it to the height of 381 meters, and its antenna reaches 443 meters. So the spire of Jeddah Tower would be taller than the main part of the ESB.

Exactly because of the similar irrational reasons, this tower has failed to meet the deadline.

There was a glitch in the upgrade they just finished and one of the formers in Brazil figured it out and sent the solution to the people doing the upgrade.

Jeddah Tower Climbs Higher in New Photos
Quote:
We last checked in on the Jeddah Tower, the 167-storey megatall that is next in line to become the world's tallest building. Back then, the tower's structure was over 20 percent complete. In the latest photos from the site, the ever-rising core has substantially jumped to around the 50-floor mark. And it still has a long journey ahead: the tower will eventually top the 1,000-metre milestone, becoming the first structure on the planet to climb over a kilometre into the sky.

Burj Khalifa's design and height kept on evolving even when the construction had already started. Its height was increased by about 20%, from 700m to 828m while it was under construction. Can we expect something similar in the case of Jeddah Tower also? Is this slow progress linked with any design review and changes? Will it exceed 1200m to challenge the Tower in Dubai?

This might be the modern Tower of Babel. They are so slow with the construction that Saudi Arabia might run out of money before the tower gets topped out. Besides, its costs must have increased immensely and will continue doing so.

It must be difficult to not have a tower of this magnitude being built in your country.

I still remember watching the Burj Khalifa being built and a number of posters calling it the tower of babel. Now it's finished, standing tall and proud. And so will the Jeddah Tower.

Indeed..because of its current isolation of a skyline it doesn't have anything near by to compare heights so it looks like a 100mts already topped out highrise lol, but at its current height it could be one of the tallest in many western cities already.
