It's mentioned in the title of the topic: 167 floors.

Final height is still secret, but until now assumed around 1006 m.

World's tallest building delayed to 2019: Saudi prince

JEDDAH: The completion date for the world’s tallest tower has been pushed back to 2019, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal said Thursday, almost six years after launching the record-breaking project.
Jeddah Tower is to rise more than a kilometer (almost 3,300 feet), placing it above Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
“The project was delayed... but it’ll open (in) 2019,” Prince Alwaleed told AFP during a visit to the site beside the Red Sea.
Alwaleed chairs Kingdom Holding Co. whose affiliated Jeddah Economic Company is developing the spire-topped landmark.
The project contractor Saudi Binladin Group was among construction firms in the kingdom that suffered financially after a collapse in oil revenues from 2014.
Alwaleed first announced plans for the tower in August 2011, saying it would take 36 months to build after the start of construction.
By November 2014, a four-story foundation was in place and Alwaleed said the building would be finished in 2018.
But that was before the kingdom felt the full force of a drop in oil revenues.
In November 2015, Kingdom Holding said Jeddah Economic Company had reached a financing deal with Saudi Arabia’s Alinma Investment to finish the Jeddah Tower, which then had 26 floors.
Alwaleed on Thursday rode a construction elevator about 30 floors to meet reporters in the concrete shell of the building, which already offers spectacular views over the rest of Jeddah and the adjacent sea.
Kingdom Holding has shares in the Euro Disney theme park, Apple, News Corporation and US banking giant Citigroup, among other firms.

I think that it is their strategy not to let the new tower developer in Dubai feel that there is a chance of increasing the height. I think they actually want them to finish before and everyone knows it can't finish in 2019

Sad news that JT is delayed, as we all expected.

But good news that the Prince himself announces that the project is 100% alive...

For the competition with Dubai: exciting to follow both threads the coming years.

There is no Dubai strategy ... even if they increased the height to the maximum possible it will be shorter than the tower in Dubai ... Emaar created this game they know how to play it ... to put things in perspective Dubai new tower's height will be jaw dropping, no one will believe it ... just wait and see basically Emaar will have it crazy high in a way no one will be able to build taller in the foreseeable future and I'm not guessing here

Anw this can always be the tallest building while Dubai takes the title of tallest man made structure

Agree with you. This is such a strategy.

So it is not on hold after all just the completion date is supposedly in 2 years. That's a feat that we will have to see to believe.

Now the question is, have they got strong enough basement to build another extra hundreds of feet/meters of tower to beat Dubai if needed?

Oh they know that very well and the proof is in this Arabic article: http://www.elfagr.org/2588123

Basically in one paragraph the butt-hurt prince says something on the lines of "The prince refused that the new Dubai tower is taller than Jeddah Tower since it is only a shell of a tower compared to his"

Well this salty attitude just proves it Which is weird since the whole idea of this tower and its district is a copy of what Dubai has already done ... if I was him I wouldn't try to act all defensive towards the city that gave him the idea in the first place.

so what, they can still build bigger skyscraper next time there is a lot of space around, so it can be done during second or third phase of Jeddah economic city development.
