Eureka will always be Australia's tallest, until Evo that is.
I'm okay with that - but try selling that to the NY guys!

Oh yeah - forgot to mention that I also think these buildings are smashing. Hope they go up. I like this trend of having sky gardens way up there.

WRONG!

Hate to spoil your little party but the Eureka Tower never has been, isn't and never will be the tallest building in Australia, let alone the World's Tallest Residential Building. The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat has stated many times that a spire like that of Q1's is an architecture feature and is to be counted as the final height of the building, and whether you agree or not is irrelevent. Q1 is taller than Eureka, deal with it.

As for E1 and E2? Stunning buildings, far better than the Empire Towers in Miami itself. The skygardens is just a marvellous idea and the height is just amazing for a city with less than one million people.

Yeah yeah we all know, whatever.

I still see Eureka taller though. A stick is pointless to me.

Seriously, how can a pole be an architectural feature, if it is it's a pretty lame one at that and only flaunting a technicality to claim 'world's tallest' title.
IMO if a person can reside at a higher height then it's a taller building.
Of course people who profess that 'spires/poles' are architectural features always argue reciting the rules layed down by the almighty COUNCIL ON TALL BUILDINGS AND URBAN HABITAT because it suites them.
Eureka IS THE CURRENT TALLEST RESIDENTIAL BUILDING TO ROOF....and that's a fact Jack.

Yup, these towers are GREAT indeed. I love the twist feature on the shorter one.

Woot!
Looks like a cheap rip off of the Petronas Towers with that sky bridge or whatever you call it.

For those interested and who may not have seen my comments over there, my compromise position suggestion was that spires could be included IF they measured to a maximum 10% of the total building height. I wanted to add that they also need to be aesthetically part of the form, but I was already on the verge with those guys, so I executed a bit of forbearance.

The Times building is a 748' building with a massive antenna spire that puts it up to 1140'. They justify saying 1140' as they call it an 'architectural height'.

The antenna spire on the Freedom tower is actually even bigger - well over 400', but they justify including it in height as it is 'more than just an antenna'. It has some basic steel-work around it going up. I say that is a crock, but who am I?
But again, why do other countries' flagpoles get counted in the height and not Australia's ? Seems like Australia gets the wrong end of the didgeradoo every time.

Please do not be put off by these morons. They can say what they want and keep telling themselves that spires don't count. But in Australia we count the spires as the final heights, regardless whether they agree or not.
