Does anyone have any information on the plans for Jet Blue's international building at JFK?

They just demolished T6 in preparation for it, but I have not seen any renderings or plans to this point.

La Guardia Terminal Update Sought



The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is eyeing a 2014 start to construction of a replacement for the cramped, outdated Central Terminal Building at La Guardia Airport.

The authority is seeking proposals from private terminal operators, bankers and consultants to finance, design and build a replacement terminal, according to a request for information issued quietly last month.

Plans are still tentative, and construction might not start by 2014. But the request for information is one of the most concrete steps yet toward replacing the terminal.

"I think the schedule is our best estimate to how the transaction or transactions could fall into place," said Patrick Foye, the Port Authority's executive director. "Obviously we're going to be driven by the suggestions that come in from industry partners."

The schedule calls for construction to be completed by the end of 2021 at a cost of about $3.6 billion. Because the terminal would need to remain in operation during construction, the Port Authority sees work taking place in phases.

A contractor would knock down part of the terminal while keeping the rest in operation, construct part of the new building, and then move onto the demolition of another piece of the old one.

Mr. Foye said the authority plans to issue a similar request for information soon to seek ideas for how to overhaul Newark Liberty International Airport's Terminal A.

With T3 & T6 at JFK being demolished and T4 upgraded, Newark's terminal A being replaced and B being renovated, and this, NYC's airports will be improved markedly in the coming years.

Good riddance to the worst terminals in the developed world, T3 and LGA's CT.

A Look At JFK's New Terminal 5i

Where JFK's I.M. Pei-designed Sundrome—the 1969 Terminal 6—once stood, JetBlue is now at work on Terminal 5i. The groundbreaking took place this morning, and now we have our first look at renderings of the future terminal, designed by Gensler. It will include space for international arrivals and aircraft parking, but it's no I.M. Pei design.

from up-close yes though they didn't say why... when I was in the ramp control, they didn't seem to mind...

Teterboro also under water and will not reopen today either... JFK and EWR are opening but with limited service..

I have heard that parts of JFK and EWR were flooded as well. Any truth to this?
