#300 l Jinzuo Plaza l DALIAN l 216m l 55fl
Jinzuo Plaza
Dalian, China HEIGHT: 216m/708 feet FLOORS: 55 floors COMPLETION: 2000 ARCHITECT: ? Work on this building, which is also known as Golden Plaza, started in 1995 and should have been completed in 2000. But, unfortunately, the builders went out of money and the building has only been finished from the outside for about 90%. Work on the inside hasn't even started. The building is one of eight buildings in the downtown area that have been topped out and have been completed on the outside for 90-100%, but haven't been completed on the inside and thus are not (yet) in use. ![]()

I actually find the top exotic..very Eastern looking. But that base just ruins it all by being too big. It kinda cancels out the soaring effect of the tower. |

4.5/10 - hoo boy, what a mess....
I like the top, which is a really unique idea, but it belongs on an entirely different building. The tower is squat and bulky, even though the indentation helps a little, and the base is just flat out dull, almost ugly - it also looks like it hasn't been maintained. And it doesn't go with the shalt at all. In fact, it looks like the architects took parts of 3 different buildings and slapped them together, just to see what would happen - Sort of like those picture books with pages in three parts that allow you you to combine parts of different faces or buildings... Simply NO harmony in this contraption at all!

maybe they shouldn't finish this building, but just destroy it, and try again.
