I really hope this doesn't go ahead, Manila is a great city, maybe not the most beautiful at the moment but it does have potential. Something like this (the whole complex that is) will really damage that potential. I don't think Manila needs to become some kind of Las Vegas, there is already Macau. If the government want to build something like this, they should pick a regional location where this complex can stand on it's own. Somewhere else that could do with the jobs and infrastructure.

The Pagcor city is not in not located in the city of Manila. The project will rise in Bay City (a reclaimed area along Manila Bay) which is a part of Pasay City. Pasay city is just one of the Cities which composed the Metro Manila/ National Capital Region. Pasay city badly needed this development, they are left behind in terms of developments by other cities in Metro Manila like Manila city, Makati city, Mandaluyong city, Taguig city, Quezon city, and others.

unbelievable! that is so tall! i really hope the Catholic Church won't be such a pain in the ass. they always oppose to anything that is "unholy" like gambling and casinos. such hypocrites! they always preach about living a meek life and have a vow of poverty, but the pope lives in a palace and wears red Prada shoes.

I agree. Vegasizing will ruin Manila's position as a world city. And if the tower is indeed a serious proposal- and I seriously doubt it is, there is hardly any reason to look at this tower except for its height.

Again, it's not only a gambling complex, it has a theme park and even a stadium. Singapore is a perfect example for this project.

the government should start decongesting manila right now.. it'll just increase the population and of course the concentration of the gov't itself.. once that complex is erected, many provinces and "little cities" around the capital will be left behind.. again..

There are already several casinos around Metro Manila especially in 5-star hotels. In fact The Heritage Hotel which is near the planned site has a casino on the ground floor. Other world cities around Asia have their Casino schemes like HK or Singapore.

Singapore which is an alpha world city is building their Sands Hotel and Casino. Will it ruin the city's status with its presence?

As for the tower, its a nice plan but it a sketch. If they are gonna build it, they need a good architect and of course, engineers. It would be cool to see this infront of Manila Bay but at least change the name and design.

And for the location, it may be in Pasay but its still part of Metro Manila. So technically, we can still consider it as Manila
