This is so disappointing. But i think they are planning to transfer the airport to Clark by 2015. Maybe they should just defer the construction until 2014.

i think this is a proposal with no investors yet. Or else, why advertise on CNN and Time magazine if everything's all set? Big projects are uasually kept secret until the last minute to keep competitors from making their own moves. itong PAGCOR, puro dada!

Exactly...Now why PAGCOR would actually announce to the world that they will build it then only to say "oops" is beyond disappointing...Personally, Id be so embarrased to show my face to people after bragging about something that, as it turned out, I cannot do after all...I hope they still build it but Im half convinced that they wont and they're just making airtraffic as an excuse...Working with diffrent nationalities and a lot of the from the SEA region, Im really embarassed about this since some of them had read about this when PAGCOR announced that they will build this 660+ meter tower... Im still hoping Im wrong...

"This is so disappointing. But i think they are planning to transfer the airport to Clark by 2015. Maybe they should just defer the construction until 2014."

The Diosdadao Macapagal Airport in Clark (under the CIAC) has been in operation for several years now. Many of the international budget airlines- like Asiana- take off and land there. A new much bigger terminal for the DMIA is being bid out.

But NAIA will not stop operating. They will operate together. NAIA has reached its limit of capacity. There is no more room, no way to add a runway or expand what is there. Hence, the DMIA will get the future volume.

But the NAIA will remain.

"As far as the name, PAGCOR Tower isn't so bad but it isn't so great either.
A few suggestions:
Manila Spear/Arrow
Manila Typhoon/Twister
The Capital
Monsoon Tower
Sky Level
Manila Beacon (beacon for boats and airplanes to find their way lol)
Republic/Democracy Tower
Archipelago Beacon"

btw, here's a map of the area:

ipamahagi nyo nalang ang budget para jan sa mga magagandang probinsya na attractive na sa tourist para konti nalang ang magagastos para sa pagpapaganda kaysa jan sa mga lugar na kelangan pang ayusin at pagandahin, mas magastos

Well size does not matter when it comes to making something iconic , some of the most iconic towers or structures in the world aren't that tall namely the Eiffel tower , it's an icon of France and Paris and you can go nearly anywhere in the world and people would recognise it , the same can't be said of Petronas towers despite being taller .

I think that they could build other things in manila Bay such as these lilypad floating islands at the edge of the pagcor city , perhaps not floating just reclaimed ( above ) and simply build the tower somewhere else or in the middle of the lilypad , which epicentre could then be 5 kilometers away from the airport and call it the Manila Pearl Tower as in Manila Pearl or queen of the pacific .

What is the status of this project? I am hoping the construction will start soon. And please speak English on this thread. This is not your own country's thread. Some people are looking at this too and don't know what you are talking about.

It's worth noting that both scans are not magazine articles but instead are paid advertisements.
