It doesn't at all unless the metro builds the Lopez Centre and Skycity.

Those proposed buildings are too far away to complement the tower's incredible height. In short it will dwarf everything around it.

that is why it aims to be manila's icon. nothing negative about the simple design IMHO, whats important is that they build the e-city alongside with this monster. i'll bet on this bro, this will be a statement to our neighbours and to the rest of the world. all we have to do now is be patient.

Although I understand the statements above...

Other cities do not need a landmark structure/complex. Most Philippine cities just need more modern infastructures (coupled with advertisement) and development to attract more foreign tourists.

Seriously look at Palawan/Puerto Princessa it is just amazing, the scenery is beautiful but hardly anyone outside the Philippines know about it due to lack of advertisement, word of mouth etc.

Just developing potential tourist spots/cities in the Philippines would be enough to push the country to its deserved nickname IMO "Tropical Getaway"

i happened to stumble upon this great book of architectural sketches displayed on National Bookstore, i believe that it was made by a Filipino architect/author, and i spotted some really great designs for a supertall observation tower, IMO, they should just scrap the design above and replace it with something more aesthetically pleasing, perhaps one of those designs in that said book

trust me, they would if only their taxes find a way back home...

moving on...

are you with me when i say that both renders currently available are not worthy of being the Philippine's--and perhaps the world's second--tallest?

well, both designs look totally outdated, and i daresay, mediocre (that is, in my opinion of course)...i'm optimistic though, that as soon as they being finalizing the planning for this baby, we'd start seeing something that is indeed worth boasting to the whole world about

No. I believe the investors are still having talks with PAGCOR on which design to choose from.

@cokelitro: I remember seeing Filipino nuns playing on slots... I think it was for charity. I can't remember. Back to topic!
