This scheme is at least 3 years old. The first time I saw it I was hoping it was just a place-holder. Now, I hope it even more. It makes the stuff David Hovey is doing in Evanston and up on the Edens look good.

wish they could put a supertall on that large of a site, and so close to the spire too.

In general, it's not bad, but I expected something better for an LSD location.

Generally, I like the building. It looks like the Pan Am building if it was in South America.

But, I'll admit, I'm not crazy about the base. It turns its back on pedestrians.

i'm not sure what the zigzag nature of the building does aside from being "neato". Still, it is still an above-average building if a bit uninspiring.

It allows the residents to get better views of the lake around Lake Point Tower.

Huh? Lake Shore Drive is LINED with mid-century modernist towers. The Peshtigo continues in that tradition - it's being contextual.

LSD is littered with ALL kinds of styles, so I'm not sure why this particular building should have to be "mid-century modernist." You can also be contextual while being a different style (uh, right?) Semantics aside, regardless of what style it is, I think it's good, just not great. And with only 3 other LSD locations left downtown (by my count), I hope the last few buildings along the lakefront are really really good. Maybe the renders don't do it justice, and it will look better in person, like 600N.

What if Skybridge and 600 N Lake Shore had a love child and put it on a pedestal…????

I’m trying to not hate it, but the parking podium is an unforgivably unfriendly design for the pedestrian intense location.

Well, we see the inland side (facing Peshtigo Court) of this building. It seems much more articulated than most parking podiums, with an canted curtain-wall on each floor and a little jitter to the floorplates that adds interest. The glass panels also appear to flare outwards at the bottom of each floor, which is interesting.

Unfortunately, it ALSO looks like retail is not part of the program.
