Chinese also has the same spelling word 'Han', and call themselves 'Han chinese' but actually it's different from Korean 'Han'.
Chinese one is just from a specific ancient chinese dynasty 'Han(漢)'.. so it's really a proper noun.. more original Chinese own name is Hua(華) or Hua Xia (華夏)..

but on the contrary, Korean 'Han' is originated from universal Altaic word 'Han' or 'Khan'... in chinese character, it was written as '汗' '干' '罕' and sometimes 'Kagan'(可汗)(but actually 可汗 is also phonetic spelling of 'Khan' and it was limited to the meaning of 'emperor')

Korea has the same case,. ancient emperor or lord had been called 'Han', for example, the founder of Shilla was called 'Gese-Khan'.. moreover even governors had got such name 'Han/Khan/Gan'(汗, 翰, 韓, 干, 罕) .. and also Korean has many words derived from the word 'han' which meant 'high/ great/ many/king or lord' .. for instance, 'hana' - one / 'haneul' - sky or heaven / 'haneunim'(hanuel+nim) - God / 'hangawi'-thanksgiving day / hangyeoul- the peak of winter / hangil - wide road and so on..

above all, the official korean country name '대한민국/大韓民國/Dae-Han-Min-Guk/the republic of Great Han' is important,.. (likewise, korean call themselves 'Han-minjok/한민족/韓民族' ethnically)
the chinese character '韓' of korean name is just arbitrary signifiant about Korean 'Han'.. likewise actually the name of Seoul's river 'Han'(漢) is also such an arbitrary signifiant onto Seoul's river.. (a part of chinese call the Han river is an evidence of Chinese influence, but it's not true.. original Han river name was 'Ari' river, and Ari had the meaning 'wide, big, broad' so has the same meaning as korean word 'Han')

so, although in fact the chinese character '韓' was adopted from an ancient chinese local country 'Han韓' just due to its similar pronunciation as like '漢(Han), but in reality, korean Han(韓) has no actual relationship with the chinese local country's name. it was just an accidental result from the fact that korea had no proper own alphabet to write the name then.. anyway the truth, korean 'Han' was from ancient korean 'Three Han era'(altaic word 'Han'), never changes..

Korean style is called 'Han style' recently domestically as a cultural movement.. therefore I made the title of this thread 'Korean Style (Han Style) '... that's why i give this long explanation..
