"WHERE DO WE GO NOW?" BREAKS RECORDS IN LEBANON
Nadine Lebaki's "Where do we go now?" has broken records in Lebanon in its opening weekend. The film's premiere, which was recently supported by 'Variety Arabia' in Beirut has had a good run at the box office and has grossed more, at the weekend box office, than any other Arabic Language film to date in Lebanon. In box office terms it sits in seventh place amongst mainly English language films, beating "Transformers: Dark of The Moon", and just below "Harry Potter & Deathly Hallows" and "2012" for weekend takings. The momentum seems to be building quite strongly behind Labaki's film which also won awards at Cannes and Toronto this year. It is also Lebanon's entry for 2012 Oscars. Its a boon for the joint distributors Empire, Front Row and Kuwait National Cinema Company and may prove to be one of their most fruitful Arabic language films to date. In the event that it should win nominations at the Oscars, its likely to continue to break records not only regionally but internationally. "Where do we go now?" will open next in the UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar and Oman on the 10th of November 2011.

Sony Classics Picks Up Toronto Winner 'Where Do We Go Now?
REUTERS, Wed Sep 28, 2011 1:21pm EDT The Toronto Film Festival's People's Choice Award winner, Nadine Labaki's "Where Do We Go Now?," has found a place to go in the United States: Sony Pictures Classics, which on Wednesday announced that it had acquired all U.S. rights to the film about Lebanese women trying to defuse the tensions between Muslims and Christians in their small village. The film has already been announced as Lebanon's entry into the Oscar Best Foreign-Language Film competition. “Nadine Labacki has made a warm, human film that is both perfect for this moment in time and will satisfy audiences across the country," said SPC co-chiefs Michael Barker and Tom Bernard in a press release announcing the acquisition. "We couldn't be happier about distributing 'Where Do We Go Now?' and to be working again with our good friends at Pathé International." The announcement came on the heels of the news that another SPC title, Pedro Almodovar's "The Skin I Live In," was passed over by the Spanish Film Academy as that country's entry into this year's Oscar race. SPC often has multiple entries in that category, and this year had already acquired submissions from Poland ("In Darkness"), Israel ("Footnote") and Iran ("A Separation"). The company celebrated its 20th anniversary with several parties and screenings in Toronto, but until now had not made any acquisitions from the festival's extensive slate of films searching for distribution. SPC did not announce release plans for "Where Do We Go Now?" http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...86837320110928

WHERE DO WE GO NOW's Success Continues To Shatter Records!
21 October ![]() While Nadine Labaki was collecting yet another "AUDIENCE AWARD" at the Oslo Film Festival, her film "WHERE DO WE GO NOW?" was, and still is, reigning at the Lebanese box office for the 5th week in a row now, reaching 158,672 admissions. It is now unavoidable that by the end of its 5th weekend, the film will most likely reach and beat 007: DIE ANOTHER DAY setting its sight on the 200,000 admission mark which means that by the end of the month, WHERE DO WE GO NOW will officially become the Highest Grossing Lebanese and Arabic speaking film ever to be released in Lebanon!

Saw Tannoura Maxi & Hotel Beirut at Dubai Film Festival last week, the first one sucked big time it's like a one extended Joe Achkar music video, it's also may be offensive to many AND they kill a chicken in the movie, so they killed an animal for a movie..
Hotel Beirut was very steamy and boobsy, excellent performance by Darine Hamzeh she's the whole film.. The movie plot is definitely a Beirut Cliche but the director Danielle Arbid ain't ashamed to use it.. I read one Oscar prediction that said Nadine Labaki's w halla2 la wen is the most likely to win the oscar for best film in foreign language

Yea but "A seperation", an iranian movie also has really good predictions.. I'm not crashin your hopes, but don't be too hopeful.. We are deffinitely getting nominated though, something even EGYPT, with its history of CINEMATOGRAPHY, hasn't been able to do..

This movie was a big hit here in Switzerland, it stayed in theatres for more than 2 months, which almost impossible for an un-american movie! Yeah but I didn't go to see it, I'm waiting for Canal + to air it
![]() Actually, just two days ago, I watched her movie "Caramel" sur une chaine suisse on prime time |
