As I expected Egedesvej wasn´t ready for todays opening.

Lousy communication from Vejdirektoratet and/or Banedanmark.

They have until Wednesday because the nearby Ølsemaglevej (the next bridge to the south) will be closed on the 4th of June.

As seen the street access to the homes isn´t ready, but that isn´t so important.

Since Egedesvej will be closed in this end they are constructing a turning circle or was its called in english.
But that isn´t finished either.

They are still working on the bridge but just above the embankment its possible to see the crash barrier on the western ramps.

The new intersection between Ådalen, Egedesvej and the eastern ramps looks finished.

Lots of activity on the bridge.

Finally.

The Egedesvej bridge opens tomorrow in time for the Ølsemaglevej bridges closure, also tomorrow.

But sadly the ramps to and from the motorway will first open in the start of July

The news are only in Danish but google translate should work.

So here is my photos from Ølsemaglevej.

The next time we can see photos from here will be in the start of 2016.

First we are looking north towards Egedevej and the new Køge Nord station.

Looking south.

So the bridge was open.

I only got picture from the north side of the bridge as there is only pedestrian access on that side.

I will see if I can get by on a late evening when there is no cars around so I can get a picture of the other side.

Today I drove past Copenhagen for the first time since last year. The road works on Køge Bugt Motorvejen really slowed down northbound traffic this morning. Traffic stood basically still between Herfølge and Karlslunde.

Was it during rush hour?

Saturday evening around midnight it took 27 minutes to get from around 500 meters north of exit 31 to Motorvejskryds Køge Vest.

Luckily we were supposed to get off at 31.

I think it was a combination of single lane through the construction zone north of exit 32 and people getting home after the football game between Denmark and Serbia.

The Køge Bugt motorway is the main route to the south and western part of Denmark from Copenhagen so all the people from Funen and Jutland etc has to go that way, I'm guessing the ferrys from Odden to.Jutland doesn't depart during the night.

Motorring 4 will be closed on the northern direction this Friday from 19:00 to Monday at 06:00 in order to build a part of the 512 meters long railway bridge that will be used for the Copenhagen Ringsted high speed railline.

The part of the bridge that spans the southern lanes part will be constructed later in July.

Hans Christian Schmidt is the new minister of transport. It is his 4th ministerial post, and the second time he is minister of transport.

The government consists of only Venstre which has only 34 seats. So they'll have to negotiate every plan with other parties. I'm not sure how willing all partners in the right wing bloc are.

I think that infrastructure is not really a hot-debated issue in Denmark. The outgoing government was left-wing, but didn't really cut back on road projects. It too was a minority government.

The new government - in their accession declaration - specifically mentions 3 new road projects that they will go ahead with: widening af E45 in Eastern Jutland, new Central Jutland Motorway (specifically the section Lunderskov-Billund-Give) and a new eastern ringway in Copenhagen (The Harbour tunnel)

Some pictures from 31B and 31A at Køge Bugt Motorvejen.

First up is 31B

Then its 31A and the nearby railway tunnel under Roskildevej.

And finally the huge sections for the railwaybridge at Motorring 4.

This picture was also taken at exit 31A.

What are the chances of the Femern Belt Tunnel still starting construction this year? It seems they are awaiting the German plan approval procedure (they tend to take longer than in other countries).

Meanwhile, the waiting time at Rødbyhavn was 2 - 3 hours yesterday: http://jyllands-posten.dk/indland/tr...y-f%C3%A6rgen/

It is definite, they will not start construction this year. I even don't think they will sign the major construction contracts this year - they were supposed to be signed around now.

The construction of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel will not begin this year.

The last hearing of the German plan approval procedure will be in November (from week 46 to 48; source). The plan approval order could be passed in early 2016 at the earliest (but I guess it will be much later).

Deutsche Bahn promised that the hinterland route will be completed by 2024. It seems that the tunnel itself should be opened for (rail) traffic in 2024 too (instead of 2021).

In addition, Denmark recently lost 4 billion DKK EU funding (~590 million €). Source.

Time for an update around exit 32 with both motorway expansion and high speed rail construction.

First a few shots from Lyngvejens stadion, home of the mighty Rishøj BK

Still east of the motorway but now we have moved south of Lyngvej.

Here they are expanding the bridge over Bellingestien.

And from the other side of the motorway.

Here is the railwaybridge that will spand over the relocated western exit ramps on exit 32.
