And none of them want to stay in Denmark.

So best get ready to welcome them in Malmö....

Exit 31B at Egedesvej will open on Monday.

But today they were very active on site so I´m wondering if they make it on time.

Expanding the last part of the Køge Bugt motorway from exit 32 to the Køge Vest intersection looks like a easy job.

The Ølbyvej bridge is wide enough to fit 8 lanes but without emergency lanes under the bridge.

It has to raised but thats because of the next door high speed rail construction.

The only other obstacle is the Bellingestien tunnel that I have showed pictures of.

First we are looking west towards the intersection.

And east, just before the motorway bends north towards Copenhagen.

Finally

Exit 31B opened two days ahead of the planned opening date.

Merging lanes towards Copenhagen

The exit ramps from Copenhagen.

I didn´t get any pictures of the ramps for the Gedser, Rødby and Odense bound traffic

But here is the ramps for traffic from said cities and entry ramps for the Copenhagen bound traffic.

I posted this in the danish railway thread but I´m thinking it fits here as well.

The railroad tunnel on the Copenhagen - Ringsted high speed line under the Holbæk motorway should be done by next month.

It looked like they have put asphalt on the motorway last weekend when I passed by.

But here is an aerial from August showing the almost finished tunnel.

By relocating the motorway they could cut off 1,5 years of construction work, very impressive.

Most projects in Denmark appear to be ahead of schedule.

Maybe its cautiously planning but yes many motorway projects seems to be finished half and whole years ahead of schedule.

If just the guys constructing the metro could take some notice, that would be great.

I agree that they probably just plan with a lot of "air" in the schedule just in case. It is a lot better publicity to open ahead of schedule than explain delays to the public.

What concerns the metro, it is on a completely differenet planet in terms of complexity, that kind of projects are rarely completed in time and on budget anywhere in the world.

It might depend on who is in charge.

In Finland, most of the PPP-financed projects are ahead of schedule, because there is a built-in incentive: The cash flow to the company responsible for construction and operations begins at the moment the road is opened to the public. The earlier it happens, the more money will be collected during the life cycle of the agreement.

This sort of setup discourages making bad quality, as the bad quality has a direct cost impact to the operator.

Some action around Holbækmotorvejen, all of it is off course because of the new railway line.

First the M4 bridge

The tunnel under Holbækmotorvej at Avedøresletten is now done and the motorway has been moved back to its normal alignment.

And Hvidovretunnellen under/next to the motorway.

And finally Vigerslevvej will soon also be moved back to its original alignment because the kulbanetunnel is finished.

There's a magic trick called 'historical imagery'. In many cases it contains newer imagery than the base imagery shown, especially in and around cities. The historical imagery layer cannot be accessed through Google Maps.

In this case, there July 2015 imagery available in eastern Sjælland, mainly east of Holbæk and north of Næstved, towards the Øresund.

You can see the new high-speed rail, expanded E20, Næstved bypass, Nordhavnsvej, etc.

Btw. the planned Rønnede-Næstved Motorway is planned to end at the roundabout in the second picture.

The EIA planning procedure for the motorway is currently going on, http://www.vejdirektoratet.dk/DA/vej...nede%20web.pdf and a plan approval is expected to be finalised by the end of 2016. As financing for a first section has been allocated, construction of the first section can be expected to start relatively soon after 2016.

Motorway to Hillerød

While the Danish government (Venstre) have plans to build a motorway (Hærvejmotorvejen) to 20 billion DKK between Lunderskov and Hobro.

The heavy traffic stops on Route 16 Hillerødmotorvejen forlængelse, between Allerød and Hillerød. The road has approx. 28.000 cars per day. On Route 16, which stretches between Allerød and Hillerød, there is need for a motorway, on which to help Hillerød on the Danish motorway network, and help traffic on the expressway between Allerød and Hillerødmotorvejens forlængelse, which is the main connection from Hillerød to Copenhagen.

E45 widening completed in 82 days

Widening of E45 southbound - just south of the Limfjords Tunnel i Aalborg - has been completed in 82 days. The works on widening an approximately 1 km stretch of E45, between the Limfjordstunnel (6 lanes) and Exit 24 Østrup Uttrupvej, started on August 5th and has been completed this morning and opened for traffic. http://www.vejdirektoratet.dk/DA/vej...C3%A6rdig.aspx

The motorway - coming from the tunnel - has a rather steep climb up to exit 24, and combined with an AADT 50.000-55.000, and relatively many HGV (12 %), it has resulted in a problematic traffic flow.

More progress along the railroad construction next to the Holbæk motorway.

The socalled lufthavnsrampen (Airport ramp) that connects the Holbæk motorway to the Motorring 3 in the southbound direction has been relocated and raised 4 meters so the railroad can fit under.

It opened on the 5th of November

The other bridges and tunnels in this project is also very advanced.

The tunnel under Motorring 3 is halfway through the sheet pilling as the southbound lanes is ready for traffic again, now its time to close the northbound lanes until february.

The traffic will then be guided over to the western side of the motorway until they are finished in february.

The bridge over Brøndbyvester Boulevard is finished next summer, besides the bridge they will also lower the road.
