Is their any plan to expand the motorway network Stockholm-Oslo in the nearest future on the swedish side?
Norway will have their motorway project Oslo-Stockholm(Swedish border) ready by 2015. 70 km motorway class A and the last 30 km as class B motorway. When will Sweden expand their motorway Oslo-Stockholm to class A/B?

There is nothing called motorway class B anymore in Norway. They are now called "motortrafikkvei" (expressway). So there will NOT be a motorway on the E18 all the way to the swedish border.

No. Long term plan is motorway/2+2 Segmon - Stockholm. West of Segmon the amount of traffic doesn't justify motorway. There's a 2+1/2+2 stretch with at-grade crossings between Nor/Swe border - Töcksfors.

The only plans I know of west of Örebro is the stretch west of Karlstad which will be upgraded to a motorway quite soon.

Even if it weren't for the misleading classification of 2-lane road as motorway, your post is still wrong. Only Østfold county E18 project will be done by 2015. There is still 35km from the county line untill Oslo and no motorway there...

We're drawing at the end of this year, so let's see what will happen 2012 in terms of new motorways.

E6

Knäm - Lugnet (6km, 18,5m)
Skee - Ejgst (3km, 18,5m)

E20

Ingared - Alingsås (10km, 21,5m)

E22

Hurva - Rolsberga (5,5km, 18,5m)
Hörby N - Linderöd (10km, 18,5m)

E45

Göteborg- Älvängen (30km, 21,5m)
Älvängen- Trollhättan (40km, 18,5m)

= 104,5km of new motorways

104,5 km is quite good!

In other news, Google Maps is now updated and features fresh maps over Sweden.

Nice, though one motorway is not marked properly (road 49 east of Skara).

Speaking of that stretch, I always find it to be so ironic when driving on the E20. You're constantly thinking "why isn't this a motorway?!" and suddenly to your left a newly built motorway appears, leading towards Skövde?!

Also, it seems expressways (regardless of lane amount) and motorways are both orange now.

I agree the Rv49 project seems odd, but the AADT there is actually higher than it is on E20 itself; just above 10 000. IIRC that motorway was paid for by local (municipal and county) funds and not by the central government.

According to "Statens vegvesen" the whole stretch Vinterbro-Swedish border shall be finished by 2015. That also includes Akershus.

It doesn't. Assuming Ski and Ås will make the initiative for a toll for this road it may start construction earliest 2015/2016. It's not decided if it will be a 2+1 expressway, 2+2 expressway or motorway either.

This is a tread for Swedish highways, Norway has it's own tread.

When I was a child I remember a huge wooden troll at this part of the motorway. When did they remove it ?

Has this been mentioned? Great news, hopefully the stretch Köping - Hallstahammar will be built soon as well.

http://www.mba.se/nyheter/vaestmanla...gan-byggs-2012

The stretch between Västerås and Sagån will be upgraded to motorway (from motortrafikled 2+1). I'm guessing it will be signposted as 120 km/h, just like the new motorway between Sagån and Enköping.

The first pic was taken after 1967, the second before.

It's not a motorway (as previously discussed)....

On another note - a new bi-national customs station will be built at Ørje - construction start this spring!
