By changing the date of the pc, I can tell you that tomorrow's banner will be Lodz (the Polish Enid?).
The 11th will be a Croatian Myspace.
I'm currently looking at something called Lunch at the Rockefeller, and it's a row of 11 1930s construction workers sitting on an I-beam very high up.

Those 11 guys sitting on the beam eating their lunch might be Okies from Enid.

That could well be with The Great Depression and the drought in the Midwest. Pardon my digression off topic, but it reminds of "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck. It shocked me reading it as young as I did because to me it was about what white people with power did to white people who didn't have it. They exploited their "own kind" because they were poor and uneducated.

Yes ,the company towns were very oppressive to the poor, they gave them a cheap place to stay, but took advantage of their wages by driving up their living costs and workers ended up owing money to the company at the end of the week.

In California, according to "The Grapes of Wrath," they were lured West with colorful flyers of beautiful farmlands that were hyped as the "promised land" for them and dreams of a better, more fruitful life, and then were put into internment camps upon their arrival and they were essentially used as slave labor. The deception and exploitation of poor, innocent, uneducated people was just horrible.

Is it me or is that the Miami Skyline on the banner today splashed with "colors".
Very cool I guess.

I went to "about the forums" and found out it is Miami; it is also about a gay pride day. Didn't know they have a parade downtown.

We made banner again!

Too bad you really can't see the buildings but a beautiful pic nonetheless.

I really like this one as a banner though. The buildings look really powerful silhouetted like that and all of the Biscayne Wall is visible.

I second that. It's a really cool image and is quite powerful.

It's absurd that Enid has not had a banner yet. I attribute it to pure jealousy.

Who or how do they select the banner for this site? Does someone submit a photo with a request? Anyone know how?
