What is the biggest construction project in your city?

Edmonton Clinic has broken ground, making it the largest construction site in Edmonton with architectural merit. The largest one that is coming through the pipe (lol) is a refinery going through the Alberta's EUB which will trump anything under construction in the city as it is to be the largest refinery in North America. However, the Edmonton Clinic will have 7 cranes, but it also might have an 8th to build a parkade.

Here in Vancouver the biggest construction project would have to be the Vancouver Convention center expansion development for the 2010 Olympics. Also their is the 61 story living shangri la which is under construction.

Does "Living Shangri La" have a nick name? I can't imagine that people actually call it that in normal conversation. It is a great buiding BTW, I really like it.

Malmö's largest project at the moment is the City Tunnel - an underground rail link with three new stations below the city centre, linking the Central Station to the Öresund Bridge.

Bucharest's biggest construction projects:

BANEASA [Link]

* Business Park - over 160,000 m²
* Commercial area - over 250,000 m² (including the biggest mall in Romania, an Ikea store,a Carrefour hypermarket & more)
* Residential area - apartment buildings, rowhouses and villas

The office buildings highlighted here are almost done, and so are some of the apartment buildings. Most of the commercial area has been open for quite some time, IKEA opened this year and the mall will be ready next spring.

Hong Kong's is likely Union Square at the moment, but that is likely to change as redevelopment plans take hold and the shovels are dug into the Kai Tak Airport site.
