PANAMA CITY | The Point | 275m | 65 fl | Com

Located at Punta Pacífica. Originally was expected to have a height of around 192 metres. However, the height was later extended to 244. Unofficially is Panama's tallest, but it won't officially take the title until the tower is topped out later this month.

Rendering and construction status update by Zinho at the Panama Forum:

The Point is that this building "The Point" will be Latin America´s tallest for a while, surpassing Mexico´s tallest Torre Mayor (225m) and that´s the point. Its reign will be short because of the others supertalls U/C right here in Panama.

The size and shape of the skyline is good, and it's a great setting, but all the towers look similar (and they're not anything special either).

Of course they are going to look the same, 75% of the towers on this picture are not finished, they need the glass, antennas, details, etc. These are all new towers.

Yes, it seems that most of them are just under construction.

I can tell which ones are under construction and which ones are (sort of) finished. Most of them have the same white-concrete-balconies-residential style anyway (as The Point has in the rendering).

The 10 towers you see on the right hand side are brand new, the most of them still with the cranes and the other ones are just starting to put the glass on them.

The tallest tower in the middle is The Point, the tallest tower in Latin America right now, when is complete will be 244 meters (about 800 feet)

The other smallest towers are from the 80's when residential tower didn't matter the design.

Here you can see better the right hand side of the picture, all new towers, no one is living there yet.

You can compare the size of the buildings with the little yacht in the ocean.
