visibility in china is is even worse, especially in the inland cities...you look up and all you see is a light-gray sky when it's not even the least bit cloudy

Well yes, China, strangely, is exempted under Kyoto.

What I mean is with all the steps we've taken so far, this kind of future will be averted. But there are a few exceptions to this, like the aforementioned China.

china, india, and other developing countries were not included in any numerical limitation of the kyoto protocol because they were not the main contributors to the greenhouse gas emissions during the industrialization period that is believed to be causing today's climate change

of course the skies won't look like that everywhere, but in many places they already do and will continue to do so until stricter regulations are put in place

They're just going to be the main contributors of today then. What a stupid reason.

this is coming as news to you? haven't you read about the kyoto protocol? of course it's dumb, they're scared to put speed bumps on the rapid "development" of these countries

haha Coruscant technically is not a city of the future but of a distant, archaic past (7.5 billion years ago). It is infinitely more ancient than any human city on earth.

On the other hand, if hydrogen energy is the successor to gas, then the future would be very interesting. Burning hydrogen leaves only water vapor as waste material. Now imagine if billions of cars in the world are burning hydrogen and hydrogen is being used in every power plant in the world. How much water vapor will be released? The whole world, including bright, dry, sunny places like Greece, Egypt, or Rome would look like Huangshan in China.
