This is why it doesn't pay to voice any negative oppinions about a tower on this site, as soon as you do you get accused of being jealous or not having an appreciation of fine architecture or in this case the rather riddiculous notion of it being "too futuristic" for me...lol. There is just nothing futuristic about it, I've seen plenty of futuristic-looking towers on this thread and elsewhere and I can assure you Tour Phare in no way compares to even the most modest examples, it just doesn't.....I mean honestly, what do you see about it that's futuristic...? All I see is a wonky tower with a horrendous out-of-place curve (and what on earth is that little jutting out bit at the bottom?), rather lackluster cladding and a bizarre top. As I said, I do like La Defence quite a lot, and most of the other proposals look very decenet and will be worthwhile additions to the cluster, but they got it wrong with this one!

Learn to accept criticsm! Paris is full of examples of wonderful architecture, but you can't get in right all the time. Oh, and btw, what do the people in the Forum Grattes-Ciels Francophone have to do with anything? Wow, so the French people in the French forum like it...no way!!

I've my opinion, you have yours. Stop here.
Anyway, what do you think about other towers (PB22, Air², ect) ? Anyway I think that London 2012's projects are better than Défense 2015's, but we are waiting for the Tour Signal...

Fair enough, we'll agree to disagree!

PB22, as I've said looks very nice, my favourite out of the ones you showed on the last page, very elegant curves, nice cladding and clever addition of balconies on each floor. Tour Generali looks quite nice, maybe a bit cluttered and misshapen at the top and I'm not too keen on the criss-cross style of cladding, but I actually think it will turn out to be a nice building in real life, and the sharp needle at the top should give it some soar. Tour Air...hard to tell from that one rendering, looks pretty basic, decent enough I guess....
Tour D2...can't look at it without thinking it's a Swiss-Re rip-off, but who knows, it might turn out to be quite different.

Overall a good collection of proposals (apart from Tour Phare but you know my views on that). I can't yet see a stand-out tower, one that will make everyone gasp in admiration yet, but La Defence is slowly cultivating an admirable and high quality skyline! Tres bonne!

That was lucky. It's so ugly. Modern? No.

For the person asking 'where?', this is the Civil Justice Centre in Manchester, UK, and one of the few projects in this thread to have made it off the page and onto the streets.

It's in the background (in render form), of another proposal worth putting in this thread, which may start construction late next year.
