Concept of a twisting shape has been done before ... perhaps the architect used the Turning Torso as an inspiration.

People seem to think that every building designed by his company is designed by Norman Foster himself. Most of them are designed by a team of architects, and not one person, a lot of the time hes not involved at all. Whether Norman designed this one himself, I dont know. But please dont think that he is losing the plot because this might not actually be by him!

a futuristic skyscraper is one that cares about what it will be in the future. All of these will be bland and ugly in the future.

That is one UGLY building. What? Only 272 set-backs and 23 styles of design?

Probably 2nd ugliest hotel in the world after the Ryogyung Tower in picturesque Pyongyang.
