there is no completion date at all. maybe in five years but only if vivico sucessfully manages to get a main tenant for the building and thats not safe ! i also think they will change the design after an architectural competition. this is not the final design, there is even another one on emporis.com:
http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=...nkfurt-germany

lets hope the best for vivico

when will it start is the another question

project planner Vivico plans to market that project and so they'll re-present it in Dubai, in hope to find a global concern which would establish its european headquarters in the millenium tower. let's hope they'll be successfull

What a surprise!
The tower is not exactly a beauty but Frankfurt needs a really tall scraper and then again its not an ugly building either.

If you look from the East like above, it would stand tall at the left edge of the cluster. The Messeturm with the pyramidal top further central in the pic would be the closest neighbour.

That's a nice view... but the photo is rather dated; taken around 2000, when Main Plaza (the 88m-tower with the crane in the middle distance to the left of Main River) was under construction. In those days, the project was hot, as the name "Millennium Tower" tells. This building is the tallest project of the Hochhausrahmenplan 1998, a huge masterplan for new highrise developments all over the city of Frankfurt. Although 16 of the towers got the approval, not much has happened since. The development zone Parkviertel at the railway station has been cancelled, while most of the highrises in the Bankenviertel (the rising Opernturm and FrankfurtHochVier weren't part of that Hochhausrahmenplan) and the Europaviertel/Messe are somewhere in the pipeline, and I don't know which of these towers will come to reality... including Millennium Tower.

So it's amazing that this thread lists in the u/c-section right between the big born babies like Burj Dubai and SWFC... : . But as I once had been quite pessimistic about latter, too, there's still a chance!

Here's a pic posted in an archived thread from the Deutsche Hochaus Forum from 2003, credits go to Oliver:

This is the design by Albert Speer to the right, rather looking similar as the smaller Tower One (supposed 212m) of the Urban Entertainment Center project in the center, also planned by Vivico. I'd have preferred the more innovative Mueller Jourdan proposal, but would be happy to see green light for a supertall at the Millenniumtower site someday...

edit: carst0rnHH was quicker than me; I didn't see his posting... thanks for adding Millennium Tower, the recent u/c-towers and approved projects to this photo. Good work, thanx!
