sorry, but that's ridiculous

I'm not a supporter of 'categorizing' nations into separated regions. Russia has links with (eastern) europe because of a shared history and religion, as well as with central asia for the same reason. Geographically it stretches over two continents (europe and asia). Culturally it is a link between the occidental europe, the orient and eastern asia.

If you are convinient with excluding moscow from europe so that europes tallest building will never be in russia - fine, but its still ridiculous...

Even if Millenium Tower would be europes tallest, it's still dwarfed by its asian and arabian competitors. Let's just hope, that MT etc. start a new round of supertalls in europe...

Well, if you exclude Russia from Europe, then you have to exclude Poland as well, since it's located in about same part of the world and populated by about same group of Indo-Europeans...

Why should anyone bother comparing Europe to poppin' kitsch lego-looking empty towers in the Mid-East anyway? There's enough heritage here to not need to play that game. Supertalls are everything. OK, maybe it's not the right place to argue as such, I'll give you that one...

As for Russia, Europe or Asia is both wrong!!!!
How many times will I have to explain this:
IT'S TOO DAMN BIG TO NOT BE A CONTINENT OF ITS OWN!!!

Oh yes, a 650,000 city is dwarfed by enormous non-controlled exploding megacities with no sustainable development,...
If with Arab competitors you want to say Dubai, well then evry city is dwarfed, since there is no other city that builds as many supertalls at the same time as Dubai - but other cities build what they NEED and not to show off... I prefer an occupied 350m building to an empty 600m building. And the European economies are far more developed and saturated than the Asian and Arab ones, who still have a lot to compensate...

This is the point. They WANT to but they haven't yet and cannot join before 2020, IF so. They are not yet ready for EU. Many things have to improve: Reducing poverty (it is still a 3rd
World country with about one of the worst HDIs of Europe), as well as human rights and many other things like withdrawal from Cyprus, admitting the Armanian genocide, full civil rights for the Kurdish population etc. I don't see any challenge in Turkish positions towards these topics!
