Not much cladding works remaining in the location that used to locate the top crane.

Was on BBC world today, a documentary regarding Dubai and the infrastructure and may current projects.

Going too fast, building too many, too rapidly, spending too much, all too soon. It has come to a major halt and sooner or later, many of these buildings will be left empty or less glamorous. Well, I dont want to downplay on Dubai or the region. But if I look at these pictures, they should work on tourism much harder... Will Dubai ever become a vibrant city like Toronto? or Melbourne?

Don't think so

You mean updates on BD construction? I guess that owes to the very restrictive information policy of Emaar. Today I met a guy (he's the husband of a lady in my wife and son's toddler group) who is working for a german carpentry company involved into BD interior work and he said that up to roughly 50th floor BD is finished with furnishing. That's all I can contribuite right now... he promised to provide me with more information and maybe even interior pics, but let's see

He said he even might be able to get me in for a site visit, but I guess that's just a dream...

Wow, that's way cool. Being an old carpenter myself I'd love to see pics of some of their work. They must be very good to be working in that building!
